We are seeking the support of Online Volunteers with English proofreading experience to edit and proofread evaluation reports, project reports, proposals, and communication and knowledge products up to 50-60 pages or up to 5 documents.

The documents that the Online Volunteers working on will have the theme of Governance and Participation, Climate Change and Environment, Inclusive Growth and Innovation. The proofreading work of the volunteer will ensure a cohesive voice in the documents and provide the reader a quality and easy-to-understand papers. The volunteer will also have a chance to look through the standard proofreading guidelines and instructions of the UNDP.

While Volunteers should provide constructive feedback and suggestions on the style, tone, flow, and coherence of documents, the UNDP Vietnam assumes full responsibility for approving the documents' final version.

Consultations will be by email through the coordinator at UNDP Vietnam, including feedback iterations and a deadline for finalizing the mentioned documents.

Each Online Volunteer will take up to 5 documents per assignment during the 12 weeks, depending on requests. UNDP will fully credit Online Volunteers for the final products.

The selected Online Volunteers will each asked to perform the below to complete the assignment:

  • Proofread 5 documents as assigned by the supervisor
  • Edit the assigned documents, speeches to ensure they comply with the UN Editorial Style Guidance
  • Provide constructive feedback and suggestion on the style, tone, flow, and coherence of the assigned documents.

UNDP Vietnam assumes full responsibility for approving the documents' final version.

  • Fluent English (knowing Vietnamese could be an asset) the deliverables must be presented in English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate and work with diverse people; Participate effectively in the team-based, information-sharing environment, collaborating and cooperating with others.
  • A proven track record of experience volunteering or working with an NGO/CSO is an advantage.
  • Excellent ability to use essential computer software (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) is required. Basic web image, layout, and design, and video editing ability will be an advantage.
  • Tactful and responsible, able to keep the information confidential.
  • Able to analyze and think strategically.
