This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

This UNV assignment is part of UNDP Indonesia project/flagship programming initiative on preventing violent extremism. In Indonesia’s context, the overall objective of the project is to strengthen the capacity of PVE actors, including the government both at national and sub-national level, CSOs, religious organizations and academia in preventing and countering violent extremism through three approach; providing policy advocacy support to implement the NAP PVE, strengthening the PVE actors' network in the country and evidence-based knowledge on PVE, as well as enhancing the capacity and resilience of youth, religious organizations and women towards the extremist narratives and processes of radicalization.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the European Union through a regional initiative called “Preventing Violent Extremism through Promoting Tolerance and Respect for Diversity” (PROTECT) continue to support the Government to prevent violent extremism and terrorism in the second phase of the project (2020-2023), building on the first phase. Since the 1st phase, the project has contributed significantly to the acceleration of the issuance of NAP on P/CVE, filled the knowledge gap on PVE, and strengthened the capacity building for youth towards extremist narratives and processes of radicalization.

In the second phase, UNDP Indonesia would like to continue the same three pillars of intervention; support the government policy of NAP on P/CVE both at the national and sub-national level, data and analysis and strengthening the capacity of P/CVE actors, such as religious-based organization, youth, and women.

The proposed objective(s) will be achieved by the following outputs through these activities and actions in Indonesia: Output 1 : Strengthening Policy Assistance in order to develop, coordinate and implement National Action Plan on P/CVE. Output 2 : National network, data and trend analysis to stakeholders to prevent violent extremism and radicalism in Indonesia is available. Output 3 : Strengthened capacities and resilience of P/CVE actors towards the extremist narratives and processes of radicalization.

The partner of the project are some government institutions, such as: • The Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs • The Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs • The National Development Planning Agency • The National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) • The Ministry of Education and Culture Affairs • The Ministry of Religious Affairs • The Ministry of Communication and Informatics • The Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection • The Ministry of Home Affairs • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs • The Indonesian Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK), and • The relevant Government counterparts

Candidates will be reviewed based on the motivation, education, relevant work experience including previous volunteering and internship. Although UN Volunteer Specialist candidates are usually from 27 years old, applications from candidates who are below 27 years old could be considered too.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of National Project Manager of PROTECT Project or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV Project Support Officer will:

a) Provide operational supports to the team to ensure effective project planning and implementation focusing on achievement of the following results:  Compiles, summarizes, and presents basic information/data on specific project and related topics or issues.  Implement project standard operating procedures in line with the government and UNDP’s regulations.

b) Provide administration support to the project in implementation activities focusing on achievement of the following results:  Arrange the activities for each counterpart including workshop and or events  Assist in performing analysis of each workshop and or events needed  Assist in the process of digitization of materials and resources, including proofreads and content editing as needed.

c) Providing financial and administrative support to the project focusing on achievement of the following results:  Support the focal point for finance & administrative and office coordination of project implementation activities to process and follow-up on administrative actions, e.g. Individual Contractor appointment, travel arrangements, training/study tours, authorization of payments, disbursement of funds, procurement of equipment and services, security compliance, etc.;  Effective administration of general office matters such as response to simple information requests and inquiries; reviews, logs and routes incoming correspondence; establishment of filling system and maintenance files/records; organization of meetings, workshops; routine administrative tasks, etc..

d) The incumbent of the position should avoid any kind of discriminatory behavior including gender discrimination and ensure that  Human rights and gender equality is prioritized as an ethical principle within all actions;  Activities are designed and implemented in accordance with “Social and Environmental Standards of UNDP”;  Any kind of diversities based on ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, disability, religion, class, gender are respected within all implementations including data production;  Differentiated needs of women and men are considered;  Inclusive approach is reflected within all actions and implementations, in that sense an enabling and accessible setup in various senses such as disability gender language barrier is created;  Necessary arrangements to provide gender parity within all committees, meetings, trainings etc. introduced.

e) Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

Results/expected outputs:

 As an active UNDP team member, efficient, timely, responsive, client-friendly and high-quality support rendered to UNDP and its beneficiaries in the accomplishment of her/his functions, including: o Ensuring smooth administration, procurement, and logistics activities for PROTECT project; o In charge for tracking budget used for PROTECT project; o In charge for content development and production, as well as communication materials; o In charge in transfer knowledge of UNDP procedures and guidelines to external stakeholders (vendor, consultant, etc.); o Supporting overall Program’s operationalization

assisting operations, finance, procurement or other administration works is an advantage;  Relevant experience related to training and development, managing workshops, and providing support to manage e-learning platform would be desirable;  Excellent written communication / copywriting skills, and interpersonal skills.

As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials.

-National UN Volunteer Specialist receives approximately IDR 8,237,403.08 as Monthly Living Allowance. -Provided with assignment travel cost and entry lumpsum if applicable. -Enrolled in health, life, disability insurance. -Applicable dependents (primary family unit, up to 3) are eligible for health insurance. -Entitled to annual leave, 2.5 days per month. -Provided with exit lumpsum to support transition at the end of assignment.
