Position overview:

As Project Field Assistant, the focus is on enhancing the economic conditions of small and medium-sized farmers in northern Moldova, while also implementing urgent and sustainable energy efficiency measures in three schools.

Dairy value chain strengthening responsibilities: You will contribute to the improvement of the dairy value chain through the implementation of market systems development (MSD) strategies. This involves conducting field visits to assess pasture revitalization processes and evaluating veterinary services provided to farmers. Your efforts will lead to increased productivity and improved milk quality for small and medium-sized cattle farmers.

Energy Efficiency responsibilities: In addition to strengthening the dairy value chain, you will support the implementation of energy efficiency measures in schools as part of the project "Supporting Education of Ukrainian Refugees and Vulnerable Children in a Supportive, Warm Environment in Moldova." Your responsibilities include conducting field visits to assess construction works for three schools, ensuring they comply with safety standards and design specifications. You will also be involved in the distribution of winter clothing, meals, and cash assistance for Ukrainian refugee children during winter. Additionally, your role involves monitoring project progress, supporting local staff in maintaining energy-efficient systems, and ensuring the effective execution of construction and winterization projects. Your contributions will enhance learning environments and improve access to education for Ukrainian refugee and vulnerable Moldovan children.

Reporting Relations & Interdependencies with other functions:

The Project Field Assistant’s primary role is to support in the implementation of the project activities under the leadership of the Project Manager. S/he works directly with beneficiaries while continually informs the Project Manager about the progress and changing conditions in the field.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Support the overall project management and implementation of MILK & Energy Efficiency projects activities, ensuring compliance with PIN’s rules and policies.

• Organize and conduct individual meetings with beneficiaries, and assist with the distribution of financial assistance.

• Collect relevant information for project implementation from communities and administration.

• Assist the Project Manager in planning and implementing the project, continuously informing management about progress.

• Conduct field visits to monitor activities and provide advisory support to beneficiaries.

• Compile midterm and annual progress reports with the Project Manager.

• Develop appropriate Terms of Reference (ToR) for service providers and support the selection process.

• Develop contracts related to project activities and other project-related documents.

• Support communication and PR efforts.

• Fill in all relevant documentation in ELO and ensure compliance with project-specific files/contracts and technical specifications.

• Support the MEAL team in implementing the MEAL plan and final project evaluation.

• Participate in Project Review Meetings organized on a monthly basis.

• Manage project documentation (hard copies and on ELO) and work with finance and logistics staff to ensure all project procurements and contracts follow PIN and donor procedures.

• Perform other essential duties for the quality implementation of activities.
