Position Overview:

Working under the direct supervision of the Regional Officers of PIN, the Education area Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of the proper operation and maintenance of up to 10 EDUTech Labs in their respective region (North / South / Center). They will supervise the activities of the EDUTech Labs facilitators, ensuring that activities are planned on a weekly basis, implemented as per quality standards, and reported accordingly, coordinate communication of the school administration and regional officers. The EDUTech Labs are specially furnished and equipped classrooms by UNICEF in partnership with PIN Moldova in a partner public school for Ukrainian children to follow the secondary basic education (grades 5-9) and secondary specialized education (grades 10-11) from their country in their native language and Moldovan children for non-formal education activities. This will be done by following a pre-established structured curriculum, either through the All Ukraine Online Platform or through remote teaching sessions dictated by Ukrainian public schools in real time (depending on preference of children and the availability of Ukrainian public schools). Besides, additional non-formal education activities will be provided as per request.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensures proper operation and maintenance of up to 10 EDUTechs Labs;

  • Supervise the activity of EDUTech Labs facilitators, contributes to weekly planning and reports the implementation of general activities to the Project Officer/Manager;

  • Organizes activities (e.g., trainings, workshops, etc.) according to expertise, for children from EDUTech Labs in coordination with the facilitators and under the supervision of the Line Manager;

  • Provides day-to-day support in the administrative aspects of the project under the supervision of the Project Officer/Manager;

  • Provides logistical support for trainings, meetings, events and other project-related activities and assists with translation when necessary;

  • Make regular field visits to support EDUTech Labs facilitators, monitors field activities, provides reports on field visits and shares them when requested with direct supervisor, Emergency Coordinator (EC), and other relevant departments;

  • Replaces EDUTech Lab facilitators and their daily activities in the EDUTech Labs of their respective area when they are on holiday or sick leave;

  • Support specific project reporting requirements, drafting project documents including Terms of Reference, official letters, narrative reports, contracts, etc.;

  • Maintains project documentation (hard and electronic copies) and collaborates with finance and logistics staff to ensure all project procurement and contracts comply with PIN regulations

  • Collaborates with the LPA, the school, other local institutions;

  • Collect feedback that facilitators have received from beneficiaries, parents, school authorities and/or local public authorities about the project, report to and discuss with the Project Officer;

  • Provide support to the MEAL department, under the supervision of the Project Officer for necessary monitoring and evaluation activities;

  • In coordination with the Project Officer, support the facilitators before, during and after trainings, workshops, community events and other outreach activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher education in management, social or international sciences or other relevant fields;

  • At least 2 years of experience in project implementation, management/supervision;

  • Relevant work experience with either international organizations, national civil society organizations or educational institutions;

  • Fluent knowledge of Russian (mandatory) and Romanian (desirable);

  • Basic knowledge of English (mandatory) and Ukrainian (advantage);

  • Basic knowledge of computer use and videoconferencing software (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.) (mandatory);

  • Good MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) (mandatory);

  • In possession of driving license (advantage);

  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills;

  • Ability to prioritize and communicate effectively;

  • Ability to work under pressure and in stressful situations, patience;

  • Ability to supervise a group of people;

  • Ability and flexibility to substitute on ad-hoc request as facilitator in or outside area of coordination;

  • Flexibility to work in a hybrid modality, between PIN offices, home, and the EDUTech Labs that fall within area of coordination (hybrid working);

  • Strong ethical standards.
