THE ROLE
To provide support to policy and programme activities that effectively meet food assistance needs.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive, within delegated authority):
- Contribute to the field office programme unit, implementing relief, nutrition, school feeding and resilience-building activities, alongside cross-functional RAM, PGAAP and CBT activities.
- Manage day-to-day programme implementation by supporting WFP operations, including activity design, implementation, monitoring, and budget management.
- Support the development and implementation of guidance and SoPs for all activities and field-office processes.
- Ensure field-office implements assurance standards across monitoring, targeting and prioritization, CP management, CBT assurance and PGAAP/UCM, to meet corporate assurance benchmarks.
- Support the capacity development of WFP Field Office staff and cooperating partners for implementation of activity portfolios within their operational area.
- Identify training needs for new CPs and organize orientation sessions for FO programme staff and CPs.
- Support emergency response efforts, including engagement with local authorities and partners.
- Represent WFP in sub-national coordination forum with other stakeholders when required.
- Manage, motivate and develop an FO programme team, providing coaching, training and career guidance to ensure appropriate development and high performance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education: University Degree or Advanced University Degree in international relations, political or economic science, business administration, or other relevant academic areas.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written English and Myanmar.
