For every child, Hope This position is situated in the Programme Effectiveness Team (PET) within the Headqarter Division of Data, Analytics, Planning & Monitoring (DAPM). The Organizational Performance Management Unit, within PET aims to enhance business performance management standards, and harmonize, streamline and simplify systems, processes and quality assurance mechanisms, to support results planning, evidence-based management and measurement, reporting, transparency and accountability at all levels.
How can you make a difference? The Programme Officer, reporting to the Programme Manager (P-4), assists in the collation and compilation of financial and results data for IATI – International Aid Transparency Initiative. They will on a on-going basis collate and provide information for an interactive knowledge base with a compilation of frequently asked questions (FAQs) and enhancements on VISION/inSight and UNICEF's transparency initiatives. The incumbent also keeps track of issues and queries from inSight users (including on Yammer), and channels these issues to appropriate UNICEF offices. Contributing to the Unit's overall reporting functions by undertaking a variety of programme and budget data cleansing and organization tasks including:
1. Ensure compliance and timely publication of Country XMLs to IATI registry
- On a monthly basis, generate individual country, regional and HQ office-specific open data files using established protocols.
- Undertake data validity checks using the IATI validator and ensure compliance of datasets to latest IATI Version
- Publish the data files produced on the International Aid Transparency Initiative's registry and ensure data integrity is maintained in information subsequently published on open.unicef.org.
2. Identify and use channels and resources that ensure proactive, continuous communication, effective engagement and feedback management
- Manage the insight knowledge base and Yammer Group-activity for announcements, queries, knowledge-sharing and troubleshooting.
- Prepare and regularly disseminate updates and information on upcoming milestone events (via multiple channels).
- Coordinate and organize global, region and country-specific webinars to announce new features, train, answer questions, and enable users to share their insight experiences with others.
- Identify, apply and/or develop and disseminate effective knowledge and advocacy products aimed at reaching UNICEF staff globally with engaging content and tools.
3. Ensure completeness and accessibility of technical documents for programme-related corporate systems (e.g. VISION Systems (PS) module and insight, including RAM)
- Provide technical user support as the need arises.
- Complete writing tasks according to standards regarding clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
- Collaborate with other teams as the need arises for development and maintenance of documentation.
4. Undertake preparatory and coordination work for key global workshops and governance groups (e.g. the insight Working Group and IATI Steering Committee)
- Facilitate preparatory, coordination and documentation work for key global workshops that relate to the Unit's functions
- Maintain the schedule of meetings, and gather/distribute background materials;
- Capture meeting decisions, track follow up actions and ensure timely sharing of relevant material.

UNICEF is currently undergoing organizational changes; therefore, the exact location of the post has yet to be determined. Selected candidates may commence duties remotely until the location is confirmed.
