NRC has been working in South Sudan since 2004. Our core activities include Education, Shelter & NFI, WASH, Livelihoods and Food security (LFS), and Information, Counselling & Legal Assistance (ICLA). Protection is a cross cutting thematic area which is promoted by all NRC sectors.

As Programme Manager you will be responsible for;

• Line management for Core Competencies (CC) project managers, Project coordinators and Team Leaders
• Compliance and adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures
• Ensure Programme support to integrated Programme, coordination and technical quality in Area office
• Provide area specific input relevant for CC strategies
• Compliance to donor standards, and grant management and regular reporting to donor in Area
• Identify funding opportunities and develop funding strategy and forecasts
• Develop relationships with donor teams and agencies in the area, and contribute to securing sufficient finances for the Programme
• Coordinate with UN agencies, other (I)NGOs, local and state authorities, the targeted beneficiaries and donors and ensure maximum collaboration and cooperation with all key stakeholders
• Capacity building and close monitoring of implementing Partners and ensure compliance

You will bring:

• Minimum 4 years’ experience from a management position in a humanitarian/ recovery context
• University degree in relevant university field of Project Development and Management,
• Expertise in more than one NRC CC and experience of engagement in sectors relevant to NRC CCs
• Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
• Managing multiple project, accountability position in recovery context
• Experience in external engagement with Donors, Government and Local Authority
• Experience in facilitating the capacity building efforts of diverse colleagues
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal required

Context/Specific skills, knowledge and experience:

• Knowledge of the context in South Sudan
• Knowledge of UN, USAID, Norad, EU and other donor regulations
• Experience with managing programs in insecure environments
• Experience with grant start-up, exit or similar
• Fluency in Arabic is a plus
