JOB PURPOSE

To provide support to policy and programme activities in the areas of nutrition that effectively support WFP efforts to upscale nutrition with particularly focus on BISP NASHONUMA Programme Implementation

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive)

1. Provide technical support and assist in the development and implementation of various activities and processes within the specific area of work supporting alignment with wider programme policies and guidelines. 2. Provide specialized project management support to specific and/or defined programmes to ensure that the various activities are performed within the established targets following WFP’s policies and procedures. 3. Within the specific area of responsibility, prepare a range of reports and data analysis (e.g. food assistance needs, resource utilization, programme status, performance) and highlight trends/issues ensuring deliverables adhere to corporate standards and quality control. 4. Ensure and/or perform accurate, timely recording of data within the specific technical area of work (e.g. assistance programmes, food security and vulnerability assessments) and consistency of information presented to stakeholders. 5. Liaise with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration, implementation and monitoring of ongoing project activities. 6. Coordinate and communicate with local partners, agencies, NGOs and government institutions to perform accurate food security analyses and to ensure efficient delivery of food assistance. 7. Support the capacity building of WFP staff, cooperating partners and national government within the specific technical area. 8. Act as a point of contact for resolution of a range of operational queries and problems within a specific technical area of responsibility. 9. Oversee and/or review the work of other support staff, providing practical advice and guidance, to contribute to delivering objectives to agreed standards and deadlines. 10. Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure WFP is able to quickly respond and deploy needed resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY (not all-inclusive)

1. Assist in collecting, reviewing, analysing, and finding gaps in nutrition data at provincial level.

2. Manage overall Nutrition projects knowledge management including, data collection, validation, cleaning, and analysis, and ensuring accurate entry of complete project data in COMET BISP Nashonuma app, NIS, SCOPE, and other corporate tools.

3. Providing Assistance as required to the data analyst BISP Nashonuma field team and PMU

4. Building the capacity of project and cooperating partner staff on basic and medium level data management skills, data processing protocols and assisting with statistical analysis.

5. Compile, analyse and report on project data received from field offices and share progress reports, ensuring adherence to reporting deadlines.

6. Ensure that WFP’s data protection policy is being properly implemented at field level by respective CPs

7. Ensuring that all COMET modules are successfully implemented in SSCO including building capacity of the relevant staff if required to ensure all outputs are measured and related analysis and reports are provided.

8. Ensuring quality planning and actual achievements are recorded and validated in COMET in addition to the direct support of the CPDRs reconciliation process.

9. Following up other outputs required in coordination with Programme technical units (FFE, FFA and nutrition)

10. Prepare the annual Trend and analysis of achievement for all activities Ben and Mt distributed compared to plan under project and share the findings for further reporting through head of unit to management and different audience.

11. Assist the M&E unit in monitoring and evaluation of WFP activities, provide technical analysis, and interpretation.

12. Ensure accurate data reported, reconciled, validated, and provided for annual standard project reports.

13. Assist in preparation of accurate and timely reporting, info graphic presentations on programmes and activities that enable informed decision making and consistency of information presented to stakeholders.

14. Follow data gathering and monitoring systems ensuring that rigorous quality standards are maintained.

OTHER SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS

Good knowledge with experience in COMET, SCOPE and Access. Coordination with different actors and participation in thematic meetings. Analysis of report and compiled information from various sources and preparation of analytical reports. Excellent analysis and drafting skills are required. Ability to engage effectively at working level with a wide range of actors including those in the international humanitarian community and governments. Good computer knowledge and skills; Proficiency in Windows, MS Office (Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook)

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of secondary school education, Preferred University Degree/ Master’s in social sciences, public health/Nutrition, Project management, development studies public / business administration in any one of these disciplines or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

Six or more years of progressively responsible work experience. Minimum three years’ professional experience in international NGOs preferably in the nutrition and food security sector; monitoring program implementation and data collection, processing, and analysis systems. meeting strict deadlines under minimum supervision and deliver high quality products.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Ability to analyze data to determine overall health status, determining factors relating to nutrition, and possible areas of intervention for health and nutrition Strong statistical, analytical and communication skills Strong interpersonal skills Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

SPECIFIC CAPABILITIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION

Excel – ability to use advanced formulas, functions, and calculations to analyse data.

Create and update database through connected worksheets.

Should be able to clean, transform, and relate data from multiple sources. Excel + Power BI– ability to create Excel connected to SQL database report templates.

Should be capable of using Power Query to clean, merge, pivot/un-pivot, and transform data. Tableau - Ability to understands the different types of Charts, Graphs, and tables to visualize data.

LANGUUAGE

Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Urdu.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

This job is based in the Provincial Office, Karachi and the job holder will directly report and work under the supervision of Programme Policy Officer Nutrition under the overall guidance of Head of Provincial Office, WFP Sindh and in close coordination with the Information Management Officer based in Islamabad.

Job holders are likely to be working under the close support and guidance of a more experienced professional staff member receiving guidance and regular feedback on work performed. They are typically involved in programme or policy activities and/or analytical work of limited complexity.
