**OVERVIEW** ------------ Parent Sector : Communication and Information Sector (CI) Duty Station: Cairo Job Family: Communication and Information Type of contract : Service Contract Level : SB 2 - G4 Duration of contract : 6 Months with possibility of extension based on performance and availability of fund Recruitment open to : Internal and external candidates Application Deadline (Midnight Paris Time) : 27.06.2023 UNESCO Core Values: Commitment to the Organization, Integrity, Respect for Diversity, Professionalism **Only candidates who have the right to live and work in Egypt may apply for this position** **OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST** ----------------------------------------- Under the overall authority of the Director and the direct supervision of the Advisor for Communication and Information, the incumbent of the post will support implementation of programme and project activities with the following activities: Long Description ---------------- - Provide assistance in preparing, planning, implementing and following-up on national activities, workshops, and trainings by initiating a variety of contractual documents including preparing draft contracts’ terms of references and purchase requisitions in accordance with instructions and using UNESCO’s automated financial management systems. - Assist in programme/project’s administration including estimating costs and preparing detailed budgets and contracts for projects’partners and contractors. - Track, retrieve, research files, reports, other records and past practices. Ensure regular contacts with partners and contractors’ including from the Government, NGO, International Organization, private sector and civil society to implement the activities. Long Description ---------------- - Prepare draft minutes, activity reports and monitor follow-up activities and contractors’ deliveries and reporting, assist in verifying conformity of deliverables and prepare payment requests, follow-up financial settlement of all expenses - Provide a full range of routine services in accordance with UNESCO standard office procedures including maintaining/updating projects’ documentation and records, research, and track background information and documentation, handling in-coming and out-going correspondences, drafting letters and reports. Long Description ---------------- - Assist in the compilation, consolidation, translation and preparation of activity descriptions, reports, papers, concept notes, invitations, and other materials, by conducting research and providing initial drafts and language editing. - Assist in the Develop concepts and seek funding opportunities within donor’s frameworks for CI and intersectoral proposals - Assist with communication and information management activities, including drafting press release, website and social media items. **COMPETENCIES (Core / Managerial)** ------------------------------------ Accountability (C) Communication (C) Innovation (C) Knowledge sharing and continuous improvement (C) Planning and organizing (C) Results focus (C) Teamwork (C) **-** ----- For detailed information, please consult the [UNESCO Competency Framework](https://en.unesco.org/sites/default/files/competency_framework_e.pdf). **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS** --------------------------- ***Education:*** Completed secondary, technical and/or vocational education ***Work Experience:*** A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in project management assistance and/or administrative tasks or related area ***Skills/Competencies*** - Good organizational, coordination and interpersonal skills.
