**OVERVIEW** ------------ Parent Sector : Culture Sector (CLT) Duty Station: Paris Classification of duty station: \[\[filter12\]\] Standard Duration of Assignement : \[\[filter13\]\] Job Family: Culture Type of contract : Non Staff Level : Duration of contract : From 1 to 6 months Recruitment open to : Internal and external candidates Application Deadline (Midnight Paris Time) : 15-APR-2022 UNESCO Core Values: Commitment to the Organization, Integrity, Respect for Diversity, Professionalism **OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST** ----------------------------------------- **UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization**, is responsible for coordinating international cooperation in the field of education, sciences, culture and communication. **The Executive Office of the Culture Sector** provides strategic advice, quality control and management support to the Assistant Director-General for Culture (ADG/CLT) and ensures the overall coordination of the development, implementation and monitoring of the approved programme and budget of the Culture Sector, as well as the communication with other sectors at UNESCO, with other agencies of the UN System and with external partners. **The Entities of the Culture Sector** cover the following thematic areas of work and manage the respective international conventions: - **World Heritage** (World Heritage Convention (1972); 2011 Recommendation on the Historic Urban Landscape) - **Living Heritage** (Intangible Heritage Convention (2003)) - **Diversity of Cultural Expressions** (Diversity of Cultural Expressions Convention (2005); 1980 Recommendation on the Status of the Artist) - **Culture and Emergencies** (Protection of Cultural Property in Armed Conflict Convention (1954) and its 2 Protocols; Illicit Trafficking Convention (1970); 2015 Recommendation on Museums) - **Cultural Policies and Development** Long Description ---------------- In this framework, we are looking for a diversity of candidates to join the team of the Executive Office or of one of the Entities of the Culture Sector, as a Programme Assistant to: **1.** **Assistance for Communication processes** - Assist in the revision, translation and, wherever appropriate, drafting of communication and knowledge products, including correspondence, speeches, newsletters and reports, as well as other documents, in French and English; - Provide secretarial services to ensure the timely preparation and dispatch of letters (in English and French) and other communication material, reports, working documents etc., notably by using the “Correspondence Management” (“CM”) tool. **2. Assistance for Programme coordination** Long Description ---------------- - Assist in the coordination and follow-up of programme coordination and monitoring processes, including consolidating contributions, leading exchanges on progress reports, supporting the provision of minutes and follow-up of coordination meetings, and liaising with UNESCO central services to obtain necessary approvals and ensuring all documentation is properly maintained in an efficient and readily accessible filing system; - Provide assistance to partner and donor relations, including by supporting meetings with counterparts, donors and other relevant entities, preparing documentation and minutes related to these meetings and ensuring monitoring and follow-up on the commitments, as well as supporting the establishment and renewal processes of UNESCO’s agreements with partner organisations, notably through the Customer Relationship Management system” (“CRM”) tool; **3. Support to Administrative processes** - Assist the establishment of contracts in the relevant system, as well as their follow-up and related payments by ensuring the submission and completeness of supporting documents and reviewing contract deliverables; - Support the administration of recruitment processes, including selection, setting up meetings and reference checks; **4.
