You have:

  • University/Master’s degree in social and administrative sciences or agrarian sciences with relevant focus.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in field project implementation, preferably with international organizations
  • Working knowledge of English with excellent command of Azerbaijani language
  • Must be a National or Resident of Azerbaijan

Technical Focus

The Programme Assistant will support the program with the specific focus on the agricultural development, youth and women empowerment in close coordination with the technical officers and consultants involved to the assigned projects.

Tasks and responsibilities

Under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative, programmatic guidance and direct supervision of the Assistant FAO Representative; operational supervision of the Programme/Operations Specialist technical experts and project personnel (National specialists and international consultants) and in close collaboration with the project counterparts, the Project Assistant will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Support FEAZE program in daily follow up and coordination of the assigned project’s implementation according to the approved work plan.
  • Closely communicate between FAO, the project team and the related ministries and institutions, coordinating their work.
  • Initiate and follow-through all necessary administrative actions, following FAO standard procedures and requirements.
  • Assist in the timely implementation of procurement actions and contracts according to FAO procedures.
  • Provide administrative support for the arrangements for workshops, training, seminars, recruitment of national and international consultants and field activities, including missions, as required according to the work plan.
  • Participate and assist in summarizing the results of surveys as well as findings from meetings in the regions.
  • Support the development of the public relations strategy for the project; assist the preparation of visibility materials and communication materials by providing necessary inputs and information that will be used in outreach and mass media campaigns; support the finalization of their internal clearances.
  • Support the overall monitoring of programme by regular inputs to FAO Field Programme Management and Implementation System and providing necessary inputs on a regular basis and assisting in drafting and finalizing the preparation of reports.
  • Drafting minutes of meetings and sharing them in a timely matter.
  • Perform other duties as required.

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING

Minimum Requirements

  • University /Master’s degree on social and administrative sciences such as economics, statistics, business administration, political sciences, international relations, sociology, social work, development studies with a focus on rural and community development and/or a degree on agrarian sciences or agronomy with an understanding of/familiarity with the social and economic dimensions of rural and agrarian contexts
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in field project implementation, preferably with international organizations
  • Working (minimum B level, preferably C level) knowledge of English and excellent command of Azerbaijani
  • National or Resident of Azerbaijan
