The Position:

The position is located in the UNFPA Gaziantep Cross-Border Office.

The Programme Analyst will report directly to SRH Programme Manager.

Job Purpose:

Programme Analyst -SRH will manage the medical team of the national partners and supervise and assess the quality of the healthcare services that they provide. In this role, his/her duties will include serving as a clinical advisor, overseeing clinical trials, and maintaining high standards of RH care. and will provide inputs to the development of projects, monitoring and evaluation. Specifically, and expected to coordinate and assist with RH programme implementation by using and developing appropriate mechanisms and systems, and ensuring compliance with established procedures, as well as monitoring and analyzing results achieved during implementation and ensuring they are being reported in a systematic manner.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with counterparts, NGOs and other partners, contribute substantively to the formulation and design of the Annual Work plan in line with HRP and the country programme and its component projects that meet Government priorities and according to UNFPA programme policies and procedures. Ensure quality of programme / project design incorporating lessons learned, newly developed policies and best practices and establishing appropriate execution and monitoring mechanisms and systems.
  • Expedites and coordinates project implementation establishing collaborative relationships with Implementing Partners (IPs), experts, government counterparts and other UN agencies facilitating timely and efficient delivery of project inputs and addressing training needs of project personnel. Assist the Programme Manager in the implementation of project activities;
  • Ensure all logistical arrangements for the implementation of project activities are carried out smoothly;
  • Support the coordination of the National partners in implementing project activities;
  • Follow up on issues arising from field work and suggest and follow up on course corrections where necessary;
  • Follow up and review deliverables with national and international consultants;
  • Organize and coordinate technical and logistical arrangements for workshops and trainings;
  • Review and coordinate the production of knowledge materials;
  • Organizational and logistical issues related to projects execution per UNFPA guidelines and procedures;
  • Record keeping of project documents, including financial documents in accordance with audit requirements;
  • Assist in preparation of the annual work plans and budget revisions under supervision of the programme Manager and in collaboration with the UNFPA team
  • Facilitate timely preparation and submission of financial reports and settlement of advances, including progress reports and other substantial reports;
  • Identify any support and advice required for the management, planning and control of the RH programme.
  • Conducting field visits, participating in review meetings and evaluation missions and preparing regular inputs to status and progress reports. Analyze factors affecting the achievement of results, recommends corrective actions and follows up on recommendations.
  • Ensure the mainstreaming of gender and youth into all RH activities.
  • Ensure proper professional relationships with relevant national partner agencies, community leaders, local NGOs and other Community Based Organizations
  • Report to the SRH Programme Manager on a regular basis;
  • Perform other duties that may be required and deemed necessary.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

  • Masters degree in health, public health, or other related social science field with preferable SRH specialization obstetrics and gynecological certificate, with , 2 years of relevent experience.
  • Bachelors degree in health, public health, or other related social science field with preferable SRH specialization obstetrics and gynecological certificate, with , 4 years of relevent experience may be considered, in-lieu of a Masters degree.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Experience in health programs. Minimum 2 years with a relevent Masters degree, or minimum 4 years with a relevent Bachelors degree is required.
  • Previous experience in Reproductive Health programming is an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Field experience, preferably working in the context of North West Syria.
  • Data analysis, reporting and writing proposal skills are a strong asset.
