The Governance, Leadership, Participation program manager leads these projects: - The joint project (UNFPA, UNDP, UN WOMEN, UNICEF) of territorialization of the SDGs in Fass Commune. The goal of this program is to improve the human security of adolescents, youth and vulnerable women in the commune of Gueule Tapée-Fass- Colobane in order to capture the demographic dividend through the diversification of economic opportunities, better access to and use of quality basic social services that take into account gender equality in terms of literacy and reproductive health, as well as the establishment of a local governance system that adheres to the human security approach in order to take care of the needs of the population in an integrated and sustainable manner. - The project “building capacities for promoting the presence and leadership of women within public institutions at national and local levels” is implemented by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs through its Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (UN DESA/DPIDG). The project aims to support the development of action plans that prioritize gender equality and promote women’s career progression toward leadership positions in the public sector at national and local levels in Mauritius, Senegal, Bhutan, and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic. Project implementing partners include the UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), UNCTs in respective countries, the UN Development Programme (UNDP), and UN Women. The African Girls Can Code (AGCCI) initiative was commissioned by UN Women and the African Union Commission (AUC) in collaboration with the International Telecommunica-tions Union (ITU). The African Union Commission (AUC), through the Department of Social Affairs, now known as the AU Department of Health, Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development; the Division of Women, Gender and Youth; and the Department of Human Resources, Science and Technology, now known as Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, is providing technical support for this initiative, which aims to train and empower a minimum of 2,000 girls aged 17 to 25 across Africa to become computer programmers, designers, and developers, putting them on a path to studies and careers in the information, communication, and technology (ICT), education, and coding sectors. The initiative is built around two key strategies: coding camps and the integration of ICT, coding, and gender into national curricula. In addition, it encourages the implementation of national media campaigns involving role models (e.g., women in ICT, female teachers in schools) and uses an online platform to improve networking among girls, trainers, and mentors. The capacity building of women elected to the National Assembly and local governments. - The unit also supports capacity building for women elected at the national level (national assembly) and at the local level.

UNV will assist the Program Officer in the conduct of project activities. Support the office in implementation and monitoring of projects activities related to Governance Women Leadership and Political Participation, (e.g., preparation of trainings, workshops, awareness-raising, meetings, or advocacy actions, and in organizing related events/activities, drafting terms of reference letters, web articles, meeting minutes or any other related document.

volunteerism and/or experience of another culture, (i.e. studies, volunteer work, internship) would be highly regarded (acceptable range of experience is between 0 and 3 years); • Full proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Word, and other relevant software and digital skills. • Broad knowledge of the UN system (including UN Women) is highly desirable • Strategic planning, needs assessment, monitoring and evaluation of development pro-jects, with a focus on gender. • Capacity building and gender training • Knowledge of women's governance, leadership and political participation; preservation of women's rights.
