Provide administrative & technical leadership for management in mentoring, implementation support, facilitating tool application in field, review of macro proposals, and monitoring the WASH programs of WVI. Also exploring product development with regards to organizational standard. Maintaining collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administrative & Technical Support and Supervision on WAASH Interventions

- Visit to Project sites at regular interval

- Provide implementation support on WASH intervention

- Provide report to donor on regular basis

  • Provide field support and facilitate field exercises

- Scaling up of models and practices

- Standardization of WASH intervention, monitoring indicators and baselines in Area programs

- Support Area Program offices in strengthening existing WASH interventions

  • Capacity building and mentoring of project staff

- Based on the need in the field for the staff and community to implement the program effectively

- Training for staff and community on WASH issues and Advocacy

  • Networking, Liaison and Resource mobilization

- Facilitate networking with relevant Provincial and National Level Forums & Departments for technical support at the field

- Synergy among sectors by facilitating cross sector collaboration

  • Team and Staff Management

- Support the professional and personal development of the team members through on-the-job coaching and via providing external or on-line training opportunities.

- Hold regular project meetings for projects with project team for updates, learning and planning with the team.

- Ensure all team members have set annual objectives and review them twice a year.

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATION FOR THE ROLE:

  • Postgraduate in Engineering/Development Science
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in project management in the WASH or sanitation
  • Experience in leading WASH Resilience assessment and Developing Feasibility Studies and Scenario Analysis to demonstrate Cost-Benefit Analysis of climate resilient WASH
  • Experience in policy campaigns and dialogue with Government and Donors on WASH sector/issues is desirable
  • Professional skills in management, report writing, policy briefs, policy design & interpretation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication - fluency in English required.
  • Thorough knowledge of respective sector
  • Relational skills, especially in a cross-cultural environment
  • Strong planning, organisational and project management skills and ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks.
  • Program-related financial planning and management skills
  • Ability to work gracefully under pressure.
  • Knowledge of report writing
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with national and international staff and a passion for capacity building & organisational development.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes or similar database, email and Internet.
  • Ability to analyse and solve problems, persuade, network and negotiate.
