Refugee Info Summary

Refugee.Info Greece is an innovative, first-of-its-kind project that harnesses social media to communicate with refugees and asylum-seekers, listen to their questions and provide information. Refugee.Info Greece (RI) is one of the European brands of Signpost, an interagency project that creates digital help centers to empower people impacted by conflict, disasters, poverty and violence. Driven by community needs, these help centers allow clients to access essential services and make informed decisions on the issues that matter most to them. Refugee.Info Greece is a centralized information hub that provides simplified, accurate, and vetted information on integration, asylum processes, legal rights, child and women protection, health, and education as well as other topics. In Greece, Refugee.Info has an established brand and is widely known to refugees and asylum seekers. Since its creation in 2015, asylum-seekers have come to trust it as an accurate and easy-to-understand source of information.

Job Overview:

The Refugee.Info Manager will oversee and support the work of the Refugee.Info Greece team. They will also contribute to the fundraising and business developments efforts of IRC Hellas and Refugee.Info Greece nationally and internationally, including supporting partners in proposal writing if required.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Programmatic Support

• Building a network of contacts who can support information verification

• Advise senior management about strategic programming directions and issues affecting project implementation, or key local issues affecting future grants/projects developments

• Conduct periodic review of programmatic indicators to evaluate progress against the indicators

• Ensure timely submission of donor reports by coordinating with programmatic leads, Grants, Finance and SC departments

• Supports implementation and ensures adherence to grant work plans, spending plans and monitoring and evaluation plans

• Procurement planning and management

Fundraising and business development

• Supporting concept notes writing and proposal development processes

• They will be on charge of the implementation of the Refugee.Info Greece grants as well as budgeting and expenses monitoring

HR

• Provide regular supervision for all direct reports

• Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and providing oversight and guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions

• Ensure timely completion and submission of monthly timesheets, probations reviews and performance reviews

• Adhere to and act in accordance with the IRC Global HR Policies and Procedures and IRC Way Standards for Professional Conduct

• Ensure that all Refugee.Info Greece staff members understand the IRC Way and comply with IRC’s Standards for Professional Conduct

Other duties

• Provide representation for the Refugee.Info Greece in meetings

• Any other tasks assigned by line manager

Key working relationships:

The Refugee.Info Manager will be reporting to the Head of Programs and will be working with the Supply Chain, HR, Grants and Finance teams, Technical Advisors, Signpost Global and the M&E department.

Demonstrated Skills & Competencies:

• Postgraduate in a relevant field, including Political or Social Sciences, international law, human rights law, international relations, other related field, or equivalent work experience

• At least 5 years work experience within the mixed migration context in Greece

• Proven ability to learn quickly, help achieve stated results and objectives

• Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills

• Fluent Greek and English required

• Knowledge of local and national actors in Greece, including government agencies and non-profit organizations involved in refugee response

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary team

• Familiarity with humanitarian principles, standards, and guidelines related to protection

• Experience managing partnerships across organizations highly desired, including designing partnership models and assessing partner organization capacities

• Familiarity with Communicating with Communities (CwC) and/or community engagement approaches a plus

• Promote and actively participate in initiatives and efforts to build team engagement, inclusion and cohesion in IRC Greece.

• Foster ongoing learning, honest dialogue and reflection to strengthen safeguarding and to promote IRC values and adherence to IRC policies

Working Environment and Duration of Appointment:

This position is leave cover from Aug'24 to Feb'25. The working arrangements include a mix of in-person and hybrid work, with 1-2 days per week working remotely.
