Duties and Responsibilities - Write, edit various communications products including but not limited to technical documents, articles, blogs, web content to communicate the work of UN in Ghana - The editor will be responsible for ensuring: Structural editing (Assess and shape material to improve organization and content); Stylistic editing (Edit to clarify meaning, ensure coherence and flow, and refine the language); Copy editing (Edit to ensure correctness, accuracy, consistency and completeness); Proofreading (Examine material after layout or in final format to correct errors in textual and visual elements); Formatting (Creating a formatted document, web page, or ebook from an electronic file) and Production Editing (Coordinating and supervising design, formatting, and proofreading stages, and ensuring integration of design and content) to the highest professional standards, including UN standards where required, ensuring clarity of language, readability, style, flow of logic, overall presentation and agreement with editorial policy and relevant style guides. - Develop outline with compelling narratives - Convert documents and create innovative ideas for Power Point presentations using interactive tools. - The drafting and editing work may require some additional research and coordination with relevant staff. - Design themes, infographics, Layouts and covers of documents. - Development of figures, including colours, fonts, graphics and layout, and resulting materials such as Newsletters, brochures, banners, posters, fliers and booklets. - Creation of graphic templates to be used for reports and presentations. - Develop and proofread communication products (brochures, annual reports, banners, posters, booklets, leaflets, flyers, cards) for both web and print. - Provide graphic design support to the UN Information Centre - Any other duties as may be requested. - Must be able to work against tight deadlines Preferably relevant to writing, editing and publishing; packaging, layout (Graphic Design), mapping and reporting

Promoting learning and knowledge management/sharing is the responsibility of each staff member; - Client Orientation: - Considers all those to whom services are provided to be “clients ” and seeks to see things from clients’ point of view - Keeps clients informed of progress or setbacks in projects - Meets timeline for delivery of products or services to client Academic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a discipline relevant to communications/writing; , fine arts, Graphic Design, certified degree in CAD (computer-aided design and drafting) software relevant to the production of maps and illustrations is preferable. Experience: Experience in working at different CAD environment, mainly at Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator and\or Corel Draw and good knowledge at Microsoft Office Word and Excel. Approved experience should be provided in case of non-academic background. Language: Fluency in spoken and written English.
