a) WHO is a specialized United Nations agency with a constitutional mandate as the Directing and Coordinating authority on international health work. Procurement is a critical function in support of the effective discharge of the WHO man-date. In order to fulfill its mandate and achieve its vision, WHO must procure a significant volume of goods and services. b) Working under Outcome 4.3 of GPW13 (Improved financial, human, administrative resources management towards transparency, efficient use of resources and effective delivery of results),the Department of Procurement and Supply Services (SUP) aims to ensure high-quality, consistent and responsive supply services through a collaborative approach to procurement hence supporting an efficient delivery of WHO programmes.

Under the direct supervision of the National Procurement officer and general guidance of the Operations Officer, the incumbent performs the following functions, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks: 1. Support supplies and logistics unit in managing the warehousing activities of medical supplies and develop proper tracking system for the warehouse. 2. Support supplies and logistics unit in follow up with suppliers regularly on the delivera-bles, and update tracking sheets for procurements. 3. Follow up with WCO suppliers to get invoices/claims and verify them against the re-ceipts. 4. Support technical team in verification process of deliveries against purchase orders, and prepare Goods Received Notes for local and international procurements. 5. Provide regular and ad hoc reports on the progress and movement of shipments of goods. 6. Assist supplies and technical teams in the evaluation of contracted suppliers. 7. Support supplies team in establishing proper tracking system for all procurement ac-tivities, and to keep it updated regularly. 8. Support supplies and logistics unit in classifying and updating pre-qualified list of sup-pliers. 9. Monitoring distribution of medical supplies for WCO and partners. 10. Assist in any other request related to supplies and logistics unit.

• Genuine commitment towards the principles of voluntary engagement, which includes solidarity, compassion, reciprocity and self-reliance; and commitment towards the UN core values.

Min 2 years of Practical experience in procurement and/or administrative work; Age: 18-26 years

The duty station for the assignment will be Palestine- Gaza, which is a non-family duty station. As is the case for UN staff and partners, the volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. National UN Volunteers are part of the malicious insurance plan. A Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) of ILS 3885.59 including well-being differential is provided monthly to cover housing, utilities and normal cost of living expenses. Life, health and permanent disability insurance are included (health insurance for up to 3 dependents), as well as final repatriation (if applicable) and Exit allowance for satisfactory service
