In 2022 Belarus Country Office has established an infrastructure for digital fundraising. Global Giving Platform and CRM system (Sale Force) are in place, and the fundraising team has been exponentially growing the experience in digital fundraising and pledge donors’ acquisition. The objective of the Country Office is to grow of Individual Giving income, as the main source of sustainable predictable flexible income, mainly through digital fundraising.

The Fundraising Consultant’s critical role is to scale up Country Office fundraising activities to ensure achievement of the Private Sector Plan goals and timely reporting on the results, to implement Individual Giving plan to achieve efficient acquisition, cultivation and retention of individual donors and supporters, to manage CRM system (Sales Force) and ensure the efficient use of all available tools.

The Consultant contributes to the diversification of the fundraising channels and supports partnership officer in investigating opportunities for leveraging resources from private sector, as well as participates in the projects where fundraising component could be integrated.

How can you make a difference?

The consultancy will focus on digital fundraising and donors’ acquisition and retention, preparing all the necessary documents flow and ensuring that fundraising activities are delivered in the most cost-effective way in accordance with UNICEF rules and regulations.

Key Tasks:

  1. Executes, monitors, and evaluates digital fundraising activities in accordance with the Individual Giving plan to increase revenue and grow the number of cash and pledge donors.
  2. Collaborates effectively with digital agencies, Country Office Communication team, Programmes and Operations to ensure the support of fundraising activities.
  3. Develops and maintains a database of individual donors in the CRM System (Sales Force). Monitors accuracy and consistency of the data and analysis.
  4. Expands capacity of the Country Office in efficient use of Sales Force functionality.
  5. Creates campaigns in the Global Giving Platform and constantly tracks trends and best practices.
  6. Implements innovations and digitalizing processes that would allow to maximize fundraising capacity and speed up business processes.
  7. Contributes to the development of the Personas, donors’ segmentation, and personalized donors’ journey creation.
  8. Contributes to developing acquisition, retention, and stewardship of pledge donors, based on data and donors’ feedback, focusing on motivation and preferences. Ensures adequate diversification of the acquisition portfolio across different channels and technics, e.g. digital, DRTV, telemarketing, fundraising events.
  9. Develops existing and new relationships with external suppliers to optimize the provision of fundraising services. Coordinates the administrative processes and tasks related to the support of the fundraising activities.
  10. Provides detailed analyses, in-depth reports, and forecasts on Fundraising. Analyze received data and prepare reports.
  11. Monitors legislation and inform supervisor on any changes or risks for fundraising operations and private sector engagement.
  12. Ensures the fundraising operations is ready for the Emergency fundraising immediate activation.

Deliverables are according to the Action Plan, which is approved by the Supervisor on a monthly basis.

Supervision, Work Relations & Oversight

This consultancy is under the supervision of the Communication Specialist and Partnership Officer. Selected consultant will closely work with other colleagues from the Communication sections, Programms and Operations.

TRAVEL

If UNICEF determines that the Contractor needs to travel to perform his or her assignment, that travel shall be specified in the contract and the Contractor’s travel costs shall be set out in the contract: In cases where travel costs have not been set out in the individual contract, the consultant and individual contractors are expected to submit, within ten days of completion of a specific travel, a voucher for reimbursement of travel expenses to the Operations section. Reimbursements shall only be processed if travel was duly authorized in the individual contract or by an authorized manager of the contracting section, in writing and prior to the travel. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for assuming costs for obtaining visas and travel insurance. Exact locations and the schedule of activities will be defined by UNICEF. Travel expenses will be covered in accordance with UNICEF guidelines.

PAYMENT CONDITIONS:

Payment will be conducted in a lumpsum on a monthly basis upon the completion of the estimated tasks and provision of the report. Payment will be in US Dollars.

It is the sole responsibility of the Contractor to settle all relevant taxes.

The employment is full time, 8 hours a day.

Candidates are expected to submit a lump sum financial proposal to complete the entire assignment based on the terms of reference.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • University degree preferably in technical support, marketing, sales or financial management;
  • A minimum of five years of relevant professional work experience in fundraising, marketing, sales, technical support, financial management;
  • Experience of managing CRM systems and implementing digital marketing tools;
  • Strong analytical and organization skills;
  • Solid understanding of fundraising mechanisms;
  • Good understanding of digital marketing and communication;
  • Prior experience and hands on knowledge of managing fundraising projects;
  • Working knowledge in the Microsoft Suite of Products;
  • Fluent English is an asset.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
