Key Responsibilities:

RECRUITMENT

Manage all aspects of the recruitment process as follows;

  • Provide timely support to hiring managers for their recruitment needs; new hires, replacements, transfers, and promotions. Etc
  • Support hiring managers develop JD’s
  • Advertise vacancies through the designated internal and external platforms as appropriate to source talents.
  • Manage and coordinate candidate shortlisting, preliminary tests, interviews, and selection process in line with WVPNG recruitment guidelines
  • Conduct proper and thorough reference checks, Block Party checks, Misconduct Disclosure Scheme screening, and other standard screening as required by WVPNG.
  • Prepare job offers and contracts for selected candidates.
  • Provide feedback to unsuccessful candidates
  • Manage effective communication between candidates, hiring managers, and other relevant parties throughout the recruitment process
  • Provide sound recruitment guidance and advice to hiring managers as and when required
  • Update the recruitment tracker timely
  • Ensure all recruitment processes are carried out with full transparency and in alignment with the WV PNG Policies

ADMINISTRATION

  • Set up new hires on the WVPNG Human Resource Information System
  • Ensure all necessary new hire details and documents are shared with relevant HR team members for the next process, (ie, payroll)
  • Create employee personal files and ensure that all necessary documentation is attached to the file (e.g., employment contract, job description, policy acknowledgments, etc.)
  • Compile and submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly recruitment reports to the P&C Manager, and highlight any recruitment issues that need to be addressed.
  • Ensure all employees on probation are managed at the end of the probationary period and that all employees on contract are managed at the end of the contract in accordance with HR policies and procedures.
  • Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times in relation to staff contracts.

OPERATIONAL & TECHNICAL SUPPORT

  • Assist staff with the interpretation and application of all Human Resource Management policies
  • Ensure standard implementation of P&C practices, procedures, and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with Local Labor and Tax laws and practices; ensure that area programs meet minimum Labor Law and Taxation law standards in the area of recruitment

COLLABORATION & PARTNERING

Internal Collaboration

  • Act as the primary liaison for hiring managers in need of recruitment & staffing support.
  • Collaborate with line managers to P&C business needs, as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the P&C team in ensuring compliance with Internal Control P&C audit standards

Other Responsibilities

  • Lead and support Christian activities that enrich and develop mutual growth in Christ.
  • Support other HR functions when required
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the P&C Manager

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION/SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management, or in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in recruitment and selection or related functions.
  • Sound knowledge of contemporary HR recruitment practices
  • Hand-on experience with recruitment software and/or HRIS (desirable)
  • Experience of work in an NGO setting (desirable)
  • Good understanding of local Labor laws
  • Good communication (oral and written) and coordination skills.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks effectively and efficiently in fast fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • An understanding and commitment to confidentiality
  • Have cross-cultural sensitivity
  • Quick learner, agile, flexible and adaptable
  • Analyzing Legal Issues in Human Resources
  • Have strong attention to detail
  • Ability to commit to World Vision Core Values and Mission Statement
