Overview

Support UNICEF's ICT learning and development initiatives.

You have:

  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in Human Resources including Learning and Development in an international organization and/or large corporation is highly preferred.
  • Professional experience and expertise in graphic and multimedia design including developing engaging learning materials and reports.
  • Experience with training of staff, development and curation of learning programmes in English.
  • Proven experience with digital and online communications software.
  • Excellent knowledge of information technology systems and tools and ability to learn and adopt new digital tools.
  • Proven ability to research, analyze, evaluate and synthesize information.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written skills; and fluency in English is required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national staff.

Contract

Information and Communication Technology Division serves as an enabler for UNICEF to enhance its role as a leading agency delivering results for children and women. To adapt to the evolving development environment and new technologies, we must regularly assess and improve our organizational capacity for effectiveness and efficiency. Recognizing the importance of digital and programmatic impact, UNICEF’s ICT employees require ongoing support to develop their skills. This transformation drives strategies for upskilling through skill mapping and gap analysis within ICT functions to better understand talent landscapes and build capacity.

A key strategy for ICTD in the next plan is the development of “TeamOne” Global Advisor Services. This flagship approach will enable UNICEF to advocate for sustainable digital impact for children at scale by enhancing the digital skills of staff globally and fostering collaboration across organizational and geographical barriers.

The UNV HR Officer will support the HR Manager in learning and Development as well as support the global ICT skill mapping exercise and implementation of action plans and recommendations in terms of upskilling, capacity building, talent management initiative, succession planning, career path as well as any related process to support the TeamOne initiative.

• Resource/Focal Point: support as a resource person in capacity-building and talent management initiatives to enhance the competencies of staff

• Support Learning Initiatives: facilitate learning and development initiatives for ICTD staff by conducting needs assessments to identify learning requirements. Develop/Support in the development learning curricula, including e-learning modules and webinars, as needed.

• Design Training Programs: Assist in designing training programs, workshops, and e-learning modules tailored to the identified learning needs. Collaborate on the curation of learning content to ensure relevance and effectiveness.

• Facilitate Internal Learning Sessions: Develop and facilitate internal learning sessions utilizing available information and materials for UNICEF staff to enhance their knowledge and skills.• Collaboration with Global Learning Center: Work closely with the Global Learning Center to curate digital learning resources, supporting the testing and quality assurance process of new e-Learning courses before they are launched on AGORA

• Management Support Program: leverage the management support program within ICTD ,expanding it to meet the Division's needs. This includes developing concept notes and initiatives aimed at building the capacity of ICTD People Managers.

• Talent Management Initiatives: engage in initiatives related to talent management and learning opportunities for example young UNICEF professionals in ICTD.

• External Collaboration: identify and coordinate with external trainers or vendors when necessary to enhance training offerings.

• Logistical Support: ensure needed logistics for learning events and update/maintain Learning Calendar to ensure all activities are well-coordinated.

• Communication and Information Sharing: Regularly communicate and share information related to learning initiatives with relevant stakeholder.

Skill Mapping Exercise and Gap Analysis Exercise

• Skill Mapping Initiative: support the skill mapping and skill gap initiative by liaising with stakeholders to roll out this exercise, which encompasses L&D, upskilling, capacity development, career pathing, and talent management initiatives based on the skill gap analysis.

• TeamOne: support HR Manager in any upskilling programmes, and talent management initiatives such as mentorship programs, peer-to-peer support, and various capacity development initiatives for TeamOne

• Career Development support: assist staff in identifying career development opportunities and creating personalized development plans tailored to their aspirations

• Coaching and Mentoring: support in development of coaching support and/or mentoring support to employees as needed, fostering professional growth .Monitoring and Evaluation and Measuring metrics and Reporting

• Evaluation Metrics Development: Support the development of evaluation metrics to measure the effectiveness of training programs. Collect and analyze feedback from participants to identify areas for improvement and adjust programs accordingly.

• Data Management: maintain data on training initiatives, preparing statistics, reports, and evaluations related to training outcomes and progress for management review.

• Budget Tracking: Support in the development of learning budget requirement and track L&D expenditures to ensure alignment with financial planning.

• Proven experience with digital and online communications software, for example Adobe Creative Cloud, SharePoint, MailChimp, SurveyMonkey, digital community platforms, etc.

• Excellent knowledge of information technology systems and tools and ability to learn and adopt new digital tools

• Proven ability to research, analyze, evaluate and synthesize information.

• Strong project management skills

• Confidence in communicating with large groups especially in delivering learning programmes

• Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national staff

• Professional experience in digital communications and marketing including developing, implementing and monitoring digital communications strategies and campaigns.

• Excellent oral and written skills; and fluency in English is required.

Valencia is the 3rd largest city in Spain, after Madrid and Barcelona. And is located on Spain’s eastern coast, at the mouth of the Turia River, right in the centre of the Gulf of Valencia. It is situated on the shores of the Mediterranean, a stretch of water which has gradually forged the city's character over the centuries.

Valencia enjoys a mild temperate Mediterranean climate. The average annual temperature is 17ºC with warm summers and mild winters. The temperature in Valencia rarely falls below 10ºC and there is only light rainfall mainly in autumn and the beginning of spring.
