More about P-3 contracts and their salaries.

UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential. Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.

And we never give up.

UNICEF’s Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) Division works to deliver income, influence, and brand recognition for UNICEF globally. In the past decade, UNICEF has built and continues to grow its private sector fundraising (PSFR) capacity in around 20 middle-income and emerging high-income countries where it maintains programmes (programme countries). These countries have a fast-growing private sector (especially a booming middle class) and provide an opportunity for generating new funding streams to support UNICEF’s work with children. As a result, several UNICEF country offices are now substantially or wholly funded by revenue generated from businesses, trusts/foundations, and individual donors within their own countries. This approach reduces dependency on UNICEF’s global resources, and it enables the organization to apply flexible resources where the needs of children are the greatest.

This position will be based within the Country Office Development and Support (CODAS) unit of PFP. The candidate will report to the Policy Specialist, who will provide overall direction and guidance. The incumbent will also need to collaborate with other members of the CODAS unit and work closely with other PFP teams, as well as teams in Programme Group, regional and country offices.

For every child, a Champion

UNICEF PFP is taking strong commitment to diversity, equity inclusion, and talent management with the aim to ensure its workforce is agile and fit for purpose as the organisation strives to achieve its ambitious fundraising and partnerships’ goals in support of SDGs and beyond. This includes reflecting the diversity of UNICEF’s fundraising markets, fostering inclusion related to age, gender, nationality, and disability and driving organisational learning and cross-fertilization between country offices and National Committees. The purpose of the position is therefore to provide technical expertise required for the successful design, development, and implementation of targeted sustainable PFP talent programmes (the Fundraising Excellence Programme and the Learning Journey for PSFR Chiefs) as well as introduction of additional upskilling and capacity development initiatives targeting UNICEF staff in country offices.

How can you make a difference?

  • Supporting the successful implementation and further development of the Fundraising Excellence (FX) programme, which includes the continuum and adaptation (as needed) of the ongoing programme for existing national staff based on pre-agreed curriculum.
  • Building the ground for the launch of the second phase of the FX programme, which will involve the recruitment of new talent through the UNV modality in UNICEF country offices where PSFR is to be launched.
  • Supporting the successful implementation and assessment of the PSFR Chief Leadership Journey, which aims to develop current PSFR Chiefs’ skills to be the next generation of leaders in the PFP ecosystem.
  • Supporting PFP Regional Support Centers (RSCs) with upskilling plans for national and international staff as well as community and professional development for young talent, focusing on promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the PFP ecosystem.
  • Support to and collaboration on other learning and development initiatives, as necessary.

DELIVERABLES:

  • FX programme sessions and projects implemented as per pre-agreed curriculum, including coordination with speakers and relevant stakeholders in PFP, tracking of participation, engaging with participants, and conducting programme wrap up and evaluations.
  • Concept note for FX programme for New Talent developed and programme launched in coordination with relevant stakeholders in PFP, Regional Offices and DHR on the recruitment of UNVs as part of the FX New Talent programme.
  • PSFR Chief Learning Journey sessions implemented as per pre-agreed curriculum, including coordination with speakers and relevant stakeholders in PFP, tracking of participation, engaging with participants, and conducting programme wrap up and evaluations.
