You have:
- University degree in Political Science, Social Sciences, Economics, Statistics, Information Management or Journalism, Business Management, or other relevant field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, including some experience in either Operational Information Management, Humanitarian Affairs, or Monitoring and Evaluation.
- Experience in using data collection and visualization platforms (i.e. Tableau) and/or graphic design tools, an asset.
- Experience in managing small teams, strongly desired.
- Fluency in English language is a must. Intermediate knowledge of a second official UN language desirable.

The WFP Information Technology Emergency Preparedness & Response Branch is responsible for coordinating and managing the IT response to emergencies for WFP and - as the Emergency Telecommunications Cluster (ETC) lead agency - the wider humanitarian response community. As the operational branch of WFP Information Technology, this branch leads global coordination, advocacy and partnerships for the ETC providing vital communications and technology services in humanitarian crises to governments, humanitarian organizations and affected communities.
ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
These jobs are found in Headquarters (HQ), Regional Bureaux (RBs) and Country Offices (COs), and report to the Regional/Division/Country Director or the designate. Job holders are required to carry out well-defined activities and straight forward analytical work. They are likely to be working closely with a more experienced professional staff member receiving guidance and regular feedback on work performed.
JOB PURPOSE
Under the supervision of the Deputy Global ETC Coordinator, Global ETC team in the IT Emergency Preparedness and Response Branch (TECF), the candidate will be expected to lead the Global ETC Information Management team and associated activities in support of cluster operations and IT Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPR) activities.

Salary: Starting from AED 24,374.25 per month (inclusive of pension), plus medical insurance and other entitlements.
Duration of Employment: 12 months with possibility of extension
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
• Lead and manage the Global ETC information management team. Motivate staff, providing coaching, training and guidance to ensure appropriate development and enable high performance. Support staff-related administrative tasks including performance and evaluation, onboarding, leave and deployment calendar. • Contribute to work planning, delivery, and associated budget tracking for Global ETC IM team activities. • Ensure that standard information management and reporting procedures and templates are followed and made available, to drive the quality, consistency and standardisation of information management and performance reporting across WFP and within the ETC. • Ensure the set of products and platforms remain relevant and up to date for Global ETC activities and country operations. • Contribute to the review of processes to collect, store, analyse and visualize ETC data collected in a productive and secure way using digital tools and platforms. • Assist in the design of the ETC monitoring and evaluation framework including the standardization of Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Track reporting activities to ensure they are completed on time and captured in relevant platforms. • Develop needs assessment and user satisfaction surveys; conduct the survey as needed and analyse the results and produce comprehensive reports to be shared with IT/ETC Coordinators, management and partners. • Provide technical support in identifying operational data sets and data sources to produce reports and visual dashboards efficiently. • Provide training, onboarding and regular support to information management staff deployed and recruited for ETC humanitarian operations and Global ETC team. • Act as a focal point for the ETC Website management along with TEC Communication team, and liaise with vendor and Global ETC team members in ensuring the platform is up to date, maintained and used appropriately. • Collate, analyse and communicate needs assessments, key operational information on activities as well as challenges and available resources in order to facilitate access to timely and accurate information used at country, regional and corporate level and support decision-making; including production of up-to-date maps, dashboards and situation reports. • Engage closely with other Clusters IM teams, the inter-agency IM working group, the WFP operational information management unit and the TEC Communication team. • Support the IT/ETC Coordinator by providing inputs to IT response plans, Humanitarian Response Plans (HRP), the Humanitarian Needs Overview (HNO), appeals, appeals requests and materials required for donor conferences and fundraising. • Deploy to emergency operations to take on ETC operational information management and advocacy activities as required. • Other duties as required.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: University degree Political Science, Social Sciences, Economics, Statistics, Information Management or Journalism, Business Management, or other relevant field.
Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, including some experience in either Operational Information Management, Humanitarian Affairs, or Monitoring and Evaluation, required. • Experience in using data collection and visualization platforms (i.e. Tableau) and / or graphic design tools, an asset. • Experience in managing small teams, strongly desired.
Knowledge & Skills:
• General knowledge of information management best practices, techniques and processes with some understanding of the basic theoretical background. • Strong written and oral communication skills, including substantive analysis and report writing skills. • Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly assimilate, UN/WFP specific processes and systems.
Language: Fluency in English language is a must. Intermediate knowledge of a second official UN language desirable. Official languages are: Arabic, Mandarin, French, Russian, Spanish, and/or WFP’s working language Portuguese.
