Expected duration The initial Contract is from 01 January 2022 – 31 December 2022 (12 months) with a possibility of extension. A monthly payment of INR 60,000 will be paid at the end of each month.

Duties and Responsibilities The UN’s Office of Information and Communications Technology (OICT) defines the strategic direction for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to the UN Secretariat. It oversees ICT programs, budgets, and decision-making to align with the Secretariat’s overall ICT strategy. The Strategic Solutions unit in India is supporting various ICT development initiatives for its HQ at Vienna, Austria. In this unit, we are looking for an Operations Associate to support us with standardization and upkeep of our operations (admin, HR, finance, etc.)

Within delegated authority, and in close cooperation with the Software Production Coordinator, the Operations Associate will be responsible for the Duties and Responsibilities mentioned below:

  • Financial Management o Provides financial axpertise on recording and monitorinf og systems to record and reconcile expenditures, balances, payments, statements and other data for day-to-day transactions and reports. o Maintain the Project’s expenditure ledgers. o Provide advice to organize and coordinate the procurement of services and goods under the projects; o Support with requesting financial payments through Finance and other related teams.
  • Administration o Provide logistical and administrative expertise o Advise and maintain a roster of files on project activities, project reports, project assets, etc. o Provide expertise on control the usage of non-expendable equipment (record keeping, drawing up regular inventories). o Prepare and maintain an inventory of assets procured. o Conduct regular physical verification of the assets. o Maintain project-specific documentation and minutes of the important meetings. o Keep regular contact with the hired experts and consultants to inform them about the project details and changes. o Assit on telephone inquiries, fax, post and e-mail transmissions, and coordinate appointments. o Provide expertise in the recruitment processes.
  • Programme o Provide with the specialist expertise on h the management of project implementation from the perspective of general project management and detailed annual work plans. o Prepare milestone reports and share the same with the management. o Will be overall responsible for maintaining the relevant database activities with the support of other team members.

    Qualifications/special skills Skills: Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. High-level of IT/computing skills. (minimum: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to work independently to undertake assigned tasks. Academic Qualifications: A first-level university degree/diploma in any stream Experience: A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in providing office operations support is required. Language: Good command of English is required
