You have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 0-2 years of relevant experience in IT support or administration.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Solid overall computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Ability to work in a multicultural team and adapt to challenging environments.
Contract
This is a UNV National Youth contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Youth contracts.
This United Nations Volunteers (UNV) assignment is part of the Administrative Support Unit of United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP). This UNV assignment will contribute to the Unit’s objectives of which are to provide all related administrative services.
Under direct supervision of Senior IT Assistant and overall supervision of Chief of Administration, UNOCHA ROAP, the National UN Youth Volunteer will perform the following functions: Desktop Administration and Configuration - Assists in monitoring personal computers running the UN software delivery system to ensure that software distributions are being delivered correctly. - Assist in performing software distribution updates, scripting, testing and support. - Maintains and updates files (electronic and paper) and internal databases. Service Installation and Support - Diagnoses and resolves any hardware, software, or connectivity problem with minimum delay. - Keeps abreast of developments in technology both in the UN and in the industry in general. - Provide support to meeting, workshop etc on hardware & software, troubleshooting. Procurement and Logistics - Receives, unpacks, and inspects all incoming assets. - Solicits multiple quotations from various vendors, document preparation for procurement process, and perform requisition role in the ERP system. May provide back-up support for other administrative procurement. - Troubleshoots, cleans, and repairs/rebuilds equipment. - Performs hardware and software configuration in accordance with established procedure. - Sorts, compiles, and stores equipment in accordance with work orders and/or equipment condition.
