Contract

This is a UNV contract. More about UNV contracts.

UNAIDS is the leading global effort to end the AIDS epidemic as a public health threat by 2030. It unites the efforts of 11 UN organizations and works with global, regional, and national partners to support the global HIV response.

The UNAIDS Knowledge Management (KM) team strategy sets out the requirements for UNAIDS to become a more flexible, collaborative, knowledge-driven organization. As part of its work to implement this strategy, the KM team is seeking the expertise of an online volunteer to assist it in defining taxonomy requirements and developing a new corporate taxonomy.

We are looking for a motivated volunteer to help us develop and implement a new corporate taxonomy for UNAIDS. This will be achieved by completing the following tasks: • Define taxonomy requirements: collaborate with the UNAIDS Knowledge Management team to identify and document the specific taxonomy requirements for our organization. • Develop a new corporate taxonomy: based on the defined requirements, design and construct a comprehensive corporate taxonomy that aligns with UNAIDS' goals and objectives. • Ensure the taxonomy's applicability: verify that the new corporate taxonomy is user-friendly, easy to navigate, and supports the efficient retrieval of knowledge and information. The volunteer can be expected to work 15-20 hours per week over a three-month period

The ideal online volunteer should possess the following qualifications and skills: • Demonstrated expertise in taxonomy development and knowledge management. • Experience in conducting taxonomy needs assessments and gathering requirements. • Strong analytical and documentation skills. • Ability to work independently and remotely with minimal supervision. • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Language requirements Fluency in English is required (written and verbal). Working knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.
