Join Mercy Corps as a Safeguarding Officer to strengthen community safeguarding mechanisms.

You have:

  • Hold a university degree in social sciences, psychology, social work, sociology, human rights, gender and development, public health, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in safeguarding, protection, PSEA, MHPSS, case management or community programming; experience within an NGO is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of safeguarding principles, PSEA, Do No Harm approach, survivor-centered approach, MHPSS, Psychological First Aid (PFA) and referral pathways.
  • Proven experience in facilitation, training, and community mobilization.
  • Experience collaborating with local authorities, humanitarian clusters, and/or PSEA networks.
  • Sensitivity to gender, inclusion of disability, and child-appropriate approaches; ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and tact.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in Creole and French; English is an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Possession of a valid AC driving license and ability to ride a motorcycle.
