In particular, the Office Assistant shall: - Assist in the day-to-day liaison of the Movable Heritage and Museums Unit with UNESCO’s central services, the secretariats of other Culture Conventions and other Sectors within the Organization by preparing briefings, presentations and updating relevant documents; - Assist in the support provided to Member States for a) the ratification and implementation of the 1970 Convention and b) the requests for return and restitution of cultural property by preparing briefings, letters, presentations and emails; Long Description ---------------- - Assist in the liaison with UNESCO’s main partners in the fight against the illicit trafficking in cultural property and the museums program, as well as with UNESCO’s Field Offices, when relevant; - Contribute to the planning, coordination and follow up of statutory meetings of the 1970 Convention and the Intergovernmental Committee for Promoting the Return of Cultural Property to its Countries of Origin or its Restitution in case of Illicit Appropriation (ICPRCP), as well as related working groups; - Assist in the preparation and organization of events relating to the 50th Anniversary of the 1970 Convention, including the international conference « The fight against the illicit trafficking in cultural property: for a reinforced global dialogue » to be held on 14 September 2021.
