You have:
- A university degree in one of the relevant disciplines in education, management of education systems or related disciplines.
- At least 10 years of proven experience in the field of education: design, planning, management, monitoring and evaluation of educational programs at the national level.
- Experience in preschool education and educator training.
- Expertise in pedagogy, teaching and in-service / pre-service educator training.
- Familiarity with the mandate, policies and strategies in the field of Education in Tunisia and the working principles of UNICEF.
- Fluency in French and Arabic required.

Objective and expected result
The main objective of the consultation is to train and accompany educators on the deployment of quality standards in the targeted Koutteb.
The expected results are :
Three training sessions for 40 educators in the Mednine region on: i) the preparatory class curriculum; ii) the pedagogical reference framework; iii) quality standards in preschools. An evaluation report on the progress made by the educators in the application of quality standards in their institutions.
Deliverables
- A methodological note, incorporating a work plan and a timetable for the mission
- A detailed training program
- A quarterly monitoring and evaluation report
Responsibilities and tasks of the consultant
Facilitate 3 training sessions: i) The curriculum of the preparatory class, ii) the pedagogical reference frame of the preschool; iii) the quality standards in the preschools in Tunisia. Prepare presentations and materials for each training session Coaching all the staff working in the reference centers Accompany the head of the establishment in the management of the establishment and the organization of the work of the agents and educators. Supervise the educators in the accomplishment of pedagogical tasks related to preschool activities. Ensure that quality standards are respected and applied To assist the educators in developing relationships with the children and their families, particularly with regard to situations involving children in difficulty.
Location and duration
The mission is estimated at a total of about 15 working days for each consultant to be spread over a period of about 6 months according to a schedule agreed with the supervisor of this consultation. The consultant will work in the Mednine region and will carry out 3 field missions.
The logistical costs related to the organization of workshops, accommodation and transportation for travel within Tunisia will be covered by UNICEF.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
