**OVERVIEW** ------------ Parent Sector : Culture Sector (CLT) Duty Station: Tashkent Job Family: Culture Type of contract : Non Staff Duration of contract : From 1 to 6 months Recruitment open to : External candidates Application Deadline (Midnight Paris Time) : 11-MAR-2021 UNESCO Core Values: Commitment to the Organization, Integrity, Respect for Diversity, Professionalism **OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST** ----------------------------------------- Within the framework of the extra-budgetary projects “Addressing the urgent human insecurities in the Aral Sea region through promoting sustainable rural development” and “Silk Roads Heritage Corridors in Afghanistan, Central Asia and Iran – International Dimension of the European Year of Cultural Heritage”, under the overall authority of the Head of the UNESCO Tashkent Office and the direct supervision of the Culture Programme Officer of the UNESCO Tashkent Office, the Contractor shall assist in the day-to-day management, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the above project as well as culture-related programmes/project/activities, including in the field of intangible and movable cultural heritage, creative industries and sustainable tourism and, in particular: - provide necessary assistance in organizing activities, conferences, workshops, trainings and missions, in particular within the framework of the UN Joint Programme 'Addressing the urgent human insecurities in the Aral Sea region through promoting sustainable rural development; - draft correspondence and reports in accordance with the standard procedures; - contribute to the visibility of UNESCO’s priorities and programme in the field of culture through information sharing, facilitation of outreach events, and preparation of relevant articles on the web and social media; - liaise with the Administrate Unit of the UNESCO Tashkent Office on administrative and financial matters in order to smoothly and timely implement project activities, including procurement, recruitment and logistics; - prepare all financial and administrative documents related to the implementation of projects in accordance with the UNESCO rules and procedures and ensure their timely submission; - ensure the visibility of UNESCO s priorities and programmes; disseminate UNESCO events in the official communications, massive means of diffusion, social media and on the web page of the Office and of the UNESCO Headquarters, including but not limited to NICE using the logos and in the order and in accordance with the specific UNESCO guidelines or following specific indications provided by the Office of UNESCO Tashkent. The UNESCO logo will have to appear in any publication, working document, press and outreach materials and during the presentation, execution and reports of the projects. There will be an explicit effort to mobilise audio-visual, printed and digital media and monitor and design the key messages focused on results and impact of the UNESCO activity/program. All those activities are to be conducted in close co-operation with the PR and Outreach Specialist of the UNESCO Tashkent Office. - carry out any other tasks that may be entrusted by the Head of the Office and the Culture Officer in conformity with UNESCO s mandates. Long Description ---------------- - For this purpose, a monthly fee UZS 9,400,000 is foreseen in the contract - The contractor shall submit to the UNESCO Tashkent Office: a. the interim and final reports on the results obtained during the above activities, including comments and suggestions for the organization and implementation of similar future activities. Each interim and final reports should be prepared in English and contain no less than 8 pages and submitted to the UNESCO Tashkent Office by end of the each month; b. the signed and dated payment claims for each payment due under this contract. The Contractor grants to UNESCO at no charge the right to use any documents produced within the present contract on its website, Facebook or any other means for non-profit purposes.
