Overview

Assist in the implementation of UNSDCF and support data gathering for CCA.

You have:

  • University degree in Economics, Public and/or Business Administration, Management or other related fields.
  • At least 3 years’ development experience working with government agencies, UN and international organizations or civil society and private sector organizations.
  • Knowledge of Tajikistan development context and issues.
  • Experience with UN System and other development partners is highly desirable.
  • At least 2 years of experience in management, coordination, and communication is required.
  • Understanding of UN System and familiarity with Tajikistan’s development landscape including knowledge of the National Development Strategy 2016-2030 and SDGs 2030 is required.
  • Fluency in Tajik is required. Knowledge of English and Russian is an advantage.

Result of Service

• Assist in implementation of UNSDCF and support in data gathering for Common Country Analysis (CCA); coordinate the collection, dissemination and submission of relevant information from/to government agencies; • Liaise with relevant state agencies to seek their feedback on programme proposals, work plans, progress. Facilitate UN missions, meetings and other events organized with Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and other government agencies. • Support to organize the Joint Steering Committee (JSC) meetings; prepare meeting minutes; ensure adequate follow up and action of the decisions made by the JSC. • Support the Results Groups, and the M&E Group in planning, reporting, and strengthening partnerships with the relevant government departments. • Support to coordinate joint consultations and formulation of annual review/reports and/or other programme updates. • Support to coordinate preparation of Dushanbe Voluntary Local Review Report and its finalization; • Support UN Agencies in their missions and organization of meetings with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and other relevant state bodies within the UNSDCF; • Support in disseminating UN report and materials among the government counterparts;

Duties and Responsibilities

The Development Coordinator will work under the guidance of the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office (UNRCO) and in cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MEDT). The position is located in the premises of the MEDT. Specific responsibilities include: • Assist in implementation of UNSDCF and support in data gathering for Common Country Analysis (CCA); coordinate the collection, dissemination and submission of relevant information from/to government agencies; • Liaise with relevant state agencies to seek their feedback on programme proposals, work plans, progress. Facilitate UN missions, meetings and other events organized with Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and other government agencies. • Support to organize the Joint Steering Committee (JSC) meetings; prepare meeting minutes; ensure adequate follow up and action of the decisions made by the JSC. • Support the Results Groups, and the M&E Group in planning, reporting, and strengthening partnerships with the relevant government departments. • Support to coordinate joint consultations and formulation of annual reports and/or other programme updates. • Support the UN Agencies in VNR and VLR process in coordination with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.

Qualifications/special skills

University degree in Economics, Public and/or Business Administration, Management and other related fields. • At least 3 years’ development experience working with government agencies UN and international organizations. or civil society and private sector organizations is required; • Knowledge of Tajikistan development context and issues is required; • Experience with UN System and other development partners is highly desirable; • At least 2 years of experience in management, coordination, and communication is required; • Understanding of UN System and familiar with Tajikistan’s development landscape including knowledge of the National Development Strategy 2016-2030 and SDGs 2030 is required.

Languages

Fluency in Tajik is required. Knowledge of English and Russian is advantage.
