ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

The World Food Programme is the world's largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. We are currently seeking to fill an internship position under the WFP Human Resources Unit of the Mozambique Country Office. The position will be based in Tete, Mozambique. The Internship will be for an initial period of 6 months months starting from October 2022.

JOB PURPOSE

The selected candidate will be assisting the WFP Tete Field Office with the following key duties:

  • Provide assistance on general HR queries and follow up actions, to ensure consistent and delivery of quality HR services to clients.
  • Liaise with other internal units/offices on HR related matters and provide necessary information in order to enable timely HR services.
  • Provide administrative support in various HR activities in the areas of work allocated.
  • Maintain confidential personnel records, HR databases and archives, to ensure data and files are accurately stored and updated in compliance with the established standards.
  • Draft various HR documentation required for the specific area of work (e.g. employment contracts, transfer letters, training-related documents, etc.) ensuring accuracy and meeting established deadlines.
  • Provide assistance on general HR queries and follow up actions, to ensure consistent and delivery of quality HR services to clients.
  • Liaise with other internal units/offices on HR related matters and provide necessary information in order to enable timely HR services.
  • Provide administrative support in various HR activities in the areas of work allocated.

  • Organize and maintain personnel records, HR databases and archives.
  • Leave plans, attendance sheet, payroll review and other HR required elements are followed up, properly tracked, and documented.
  • Ensure organization’s HR procedures are shared among the staff.

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP of US$ 575 per month.
  • WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation, necessary visas and related costs.
  • WFP will recognize candidates’ educational credentials from recognised institutions that have been certified by competent international or national authorities such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) or Ministries of Education;
