Org. Setting and Reporting This position is located in the Movcon Unit in Wau, United Nations Missions Mission in the Republic of South Sudan (UNMISS). The incumbent will report to the Movcon Officer in Wau or his/her designate.

Responsibilities Under the supervision of Movement Control Officer, the incumbent shall perform the following duties:

•Arrange the movement of inbound and outbound cargo via all modes of inbound and outbound via all applicable modes of transport (air, river, sea, and road), complete cargo manifests and other documentation, arrange customs clearance and related documentation, ensure cargo (including dangerous cargo) is loaded in accordance with International Regulations; •Ensure the accurate preparation of passengers and cargo manifests; including completion of dangerous goods declaration (if qualified), weighing of cargo, participate in the loading and the offloading of freight. This includes the physical actions of lifting and carrying cargo as required; •Monitor and ensure delivery of cargo and communicate shipping details to all concerned parties; •Check-in passengers travelling on UNMISS aircraft to include manifest confirmation/amendments, baggage identification and weighing, distribution of boarding passes and passenger briefing; •Assist as may be required in the processing of passengers through immigration and health facilities; •Ensure dangerous goods are transported in accordance with applicable international regulations; •Prepare, compile and maintain the monthly detachment passenger and cargo statistics; •Track and trace missing cargo and baggage; •Board and deplane of passengers, while remaining aware of safety procedures standards with respect to aircraft refueling, use of cell phones and approaching aircraft; •Assist with airfield and air terminal security by ensuring that all passenger baggage or property are scanned and accounted for at the time of check-in, the air passengers remain in designated areas while at the air terminal and all incidents or potential safety or security matters are reported in a timely; •Prepare and process monthly attendance records, MOPs/Waivers, leave requests, F.10 claims, CMRs, e-job supply request and other documentation as required; •Place and screen telephone calls and answer queries with discretion and receive visitors. •Provide general office support services such as drafting routine correspondence and the distribution to various officials; •Maintain Unit files as required (both in hard and soft copies), administrative instruction and other related documentation; •Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Important note: The post requires the incumbent to work shifts or alternate schedules which will include weekends and evenings.

Education High School diploma or equivalent.

Work Experience At least 4 years of Administration, travel and logistics related work experience

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of languages spoken in South Sudan is an added advantage.

Assessment Evaluation of qualified candidates may include as assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
