Education: Bachelors Degree in Economics, Social Science and BBA are Desired.


The Monitoring Assistants will be based in districts Quetta & Chagai where WFP's livelihood is being implemented currently and typically report to a Head of M&E & VAM Unit or Head of Field Office.

WFP Pakistan Country Strategic Plan (CSP) 2018-2022 was designed, in conjunction with government donors and other partners, to support the GoP in surmounting, persistent malnutrition, high vulnerability to natural disasters, and the effects of climate change and the declining smallholder production and productivity.

Under Strategic outcome 1, WFP is supporting affected populations in Pakistan to have timely access to adequate food and nutrition during and in the aftermath of natural disasters. Currently, said assistance is being provided in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, and Balochistan to the vulnerable beneficiaries. WFP has entered into formal partnerships with National and International NGOs to contribute into the project implementation and perform as cooperating partner to implement the project at the field level. Cash/ food as a transfer modality are being used to contribute to the short term food security of the vulnerable population.


The Purpose of the assignment is to perform monitoring activities within a specific coverage area and provide reports to support the effective delivery of assistance packages.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

1. Verify the targeting (i.e., villages selection and beneficiary registration) as per WFP envisaged standards; 2. Perform cash distribution monitoring and the processes involved to mobilize beneficiaries to the cash disbursement points; 3. Conduct Distribution Monitoring (DMs) & Post Distribution Monitoring Forms (PDMs) in the selected area and upload all forms on MODA. 4. Receive and collate comments and feedback from cooperating partners and beneficiaries, to support identifying programmatic issues with a view to fostering efficient operations; 5. Perform case studies and beneficiary contact monitoring to assess the results of WFP interventions on targeted households; 6. Perform purposive monitoring visits to follow-up on critical issues surfaced through internal and external sources i.e., WFP complaint feedback mechanism, government authorities, UN coordination office etc; 7. Collate assistance programme(s) data in accordance with clear direction, in order to support programme reviews and informative decision-making; 8. Liaise with cooperating partners, district authorities and internal counterparts to gather feedback and comments to support programme reviews and improve services; 9. Represent WFP at district level coordination fora and accordingly keep WFP provincial office updated; 10. Provide guidance to cooperating partners on WFP operational practices, monitoring tools and methods in order to support them to complete self-monitoring tasks and to contribute to the visibility of WFP in the coverage areas;

11. Prepare and timely share the field mission reports to document the programme implementation; 12. Overall, align field monitoring functions with the implementation plan in the targeted district.

Performance Management Applies knowledge of WFP’s performance management system to manage resources and relationships to undertake monitoring actions or deliver straightforward evaluations of operations, programmes, or processes to WFP monitoring and/or evaluation quality standards. Qualitative/Quantitative Methodology Understand and applies an appropriate mix of established methods and data collection tools to monitoring, reviews or straightforward evaluations, in line with WFP’s strategic and operational results frameworks (metrics), WFP guidance and technical standards. Data Analytics and Visualization Collects and summarizes programme data, including information on shipments, distribution site logistics, the status of personas in need, and beneficiaries planned and reached for all programme assistance modalities and activities. Programme Monitoring and Review Gathers, organizes, and provides data on programme outputs, processes, and outcomes, including distribution plans and the status, quantity, and quality of food and cash distributed and technical assistance provided.
