This is a UNV National Youth contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Youth contracts.

Established in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations, and as the leading UN agency in the field of migration, works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Senior Migrant Protection Assistant or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV Migrant Protection Assistance will:

1.Carry out interviews with potential victims of trafficking and vulnerable migrants to determine their eligibility for Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) programme at IOM office or other premises (such as the Egyptian Immigration Office, detention facilities, home visits, etc.). 2.Provide case management for eligible AVRR cases, starting from the interview date until the travel date, including providing intensive case management for Victim of trafficking cases and the survivors of Sexual and Gender based violence. 3.Coordinate with other IOM internal units to finalize the travel arrangements process. 4.Coordinate with receiving missions for the pre-departure clearance. 5.Update and validate migrants’ and beneficiaries’ data in IOM databases including MIMOSA daily and assist in compiling and analyzing statistics and profiles on a regular basis. 6.Ensure the confidentiality of all beneficiaries. 7.Act as a focal point for coordination with some embassies for the purpose of AVRR programme. 8.Draft official letters to IOM national and international counterparts, related to AVRR purposes. 9.Perform other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor; and undertake duty travels as required.

Results/expected outputs:

•As an active IOM team member, efficient, timely, responsive, client-friendly and high-quality support rendered to IOM and its beneficiaries in the accomplishment of her/his functions, including: Results/Outputs can be modified as appropriate; should not entirely mirror the task description but serve as a basis for workplan and deliverables] oFollow the AVRR workplan to reach the target of the AVRR projects. oProvide appropriate case management to eligible cases •Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD) perspective is systematically applied, integrated and documented in all activities throughout the assignment •A final statement of achievements towards volunteerism for peace and development during the assignment, such as reporting on the number of volunteers mobilized, activities participated in and capacities developed.

migration field or experience in dealing with migrants and refugees or other relevant programmes; in addition: •experience with case management and micro project development is an asset, as is experience working in the UN or other international development organization; •Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills; •Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing; •Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development; •Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel; •Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment; •Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines; •Desirable: valid national driver’s license and proven ability to drive manual gear 4x4 over rough terrain; (if not applicable, delete) •Sound security awareness; •Have affinity with or interest in migration management, volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development, and the UN System.
