This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

Under the overall supervision of the Project Officer and the direct supervision of the Senior Migrant Protection Assistant, the successful candidate will provide general assistance to victims of trafficking, vulnerable migrants and those migrants who are vulnerable to trafficking. The Migrant Protection Assistant is expected to carry out his/her duties in accordance with strictest moral and ethical standards and with due respect for gender and socio-cultural differences of the victims.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Project Officer or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the Migrant Protection Assistant UN Volunteer will: • Carry out interviews with potential victims of trafficking and vulnerable migrants for recording general information; • Coordinate the assistance provided to each of the beneficiaries; • Prepare case management reports for each beneficiary in regular basis; • Ensure appropriate data management of beneficiaries, including entering data into IOM databases on assistance and proper filing; • Prepare statistics, reports and analysis as requested; • Ensure the confidentiality of all beneficiaries; • Assist in organizing trainings on victims identification and assisted voluntary return and reintegration; • Undertake other duties as assigned; • Undertake duty travels as required.

Results/expected outputs:

• As an active IOM team member, efficient, timely, responsive, client-friendly and high-quality support rendered to IOM and its beneficiaries in the accomplishment of her/his functions, including: - Identifying the migrants’ vulnerability and assessing their needs. - Deliver assistance to vulnerable migrants. - Supporting on the education grants delivery to vulnerable migrants - Develop the SOPs - Refer cases to other partner organizations • Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD) perspective is systematically applied, integrated and documented in all activities throughout the assignment • A final statement of achievements towards volunteerism for peace and development during the assignment, such as reporting on the number of volunteers mobilized, activities participated in and capacities developed
