MDF is embarking on this project, which aligns with MDF's commitment to promoting social change and awareness through various platforms. This study is dedicated to exploring the influential role of artists in media and their impact on public discourse around pressing social issues. In an era where digital media is a dominant force in shaping societal perceptions and opinions, understanding the role of artists becomes crucial. This research directly relates to MDF’s objectives of fostering community development and awareness, particularly in the realms of social justice, environmental sustainability, and cultural understanding, resonating with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 16. The project's research proposals and related materials will be used to explore the development of community building, especially the role of media and art in social development.

We are seeking three online volunteers to contribute to this research project, each specialising in a specific aspect of the research proposal:

Media Analysis:

Examine the content that artists have produced on various media platforms with a focus on how these works address current social issues. This volunteer will assess the themes, messages, and impact of artistic expressions in the media.

Social Impact Study:

Investigate the societal impact of artists' media expressions through a literature review online. This includes studying audience engagement, societal reactions, and the potential influence on public opinion and policy.

Research proposal writing:

Consolidate the findings from the media analysis and social impact research into a comprehensive research proposal. This document should outline the research objectives, methodologies, and potential implications for understanding the role of artists in media.

  1. A keen understanding of the interplay between media, art, and social issues.
  2. Demonstrated skills in either media analysis or social impact assessment.
  3. Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  4. Capability to work effectively in a remote team setting.
  5. Proficiency in English with exceptional communication skills.
  6. Ethical considerations in research, especially when dealing with sensitive social topics.
  7. Passion for exploring the role of artists in influencing and reflecting societal changes.
