Terms of Reference: MEAL Coordinator
Main responsibilities
• Support the Project Manager with the active implementation of Monitoring & Evaluation plans, ensure Monitoring & Evaluation plans are updated timely and Monitoring & Evaluation findings are in place for all donor reports.
• Develop tools and methods for data collection for example, surveys, assessment and beneficiary data (such as Kobo, ODK, SPSS or similar) with special focus on cash humanitarian transfers
• Organize, participate and collect field data and process/analyze data
• Take part and carry out assessments, monitoring, evaluation and any other form of survey or review of project
• Undertake field trips and do physical observation on ongoing projects
• Guide the regular sharing of the outputs and the Monitoring & Evaluation findings with projects staff
• Assist the Programme in developing strong indicators and logical frameworks for new projects
• Develop monitoring tools, such as questionnaires for the assessments
Accountability
• Coordinate the design and implementation of accountability systems for DRC projects
• Strengthen the beneficiary and feedback complaint mechanism and set-up new / improved systems if needed
Learning and project quality
• Act as a focal point for MEAL
• Regularly present key Monitoring & Evaluation findings to the SMT for further development

Period of engagement: 6 months
Reference: The MEAL Coordinator refers to the Head of Program/CD
Required experience and competencies
• Minimum of 3 years of work experience within the field of monitoring and evaluation
• Experience working with International NGO’s, UN agencies, line ministries and/or local authorities in migrant’s/refugee settings or in emergencies
• Experience working in monitoring and evaluation of relevant programme sector (protection/child protection/GBV/cash assistance)
• Clear understanding of Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS);
• Experience with capacity building of staff
• Full professional proficiency in English including excellent analytical and report writing skills
Required education
Master's degree or equivalent in relevant field
