Background:

UNICEF Bangladesh Country Office (BCO) has positively set out to develop its human resources to take stronger leadership in supporting Bangladesh to fulfill its commitment towards the Sustainable Development Goals. Based on training needs identified by the staff members and respective sections, HR devises the annual training plan for its staff. The training offered under the plan aims at improving soft skills and core professional skills.

The office wishes to create a pool of international training consultants for a 36-month duration under a Long-Term Agreement (LTA). The areas of training are as follows:

  • Team Building and Leadership
  • Project Management
  • Conflict Management
  • Business Writing Skills: report, proposal, email etiquette, memo, etc.
  • Interpersonal Communication, Advocacy, and Negotiation Skills
  • Presentation Skills
  • Stress Management, Staff well-being, and Self Esteem
  • Psychological Safety
  • Planning, Organizing, and Time Management
  • Career Planning: CV writing, preparation for the technical test, and interviewing skills
  • Data Analysis for Decision-Making and Data Presentation for Policy Makers
  • Coaching and Mentoring
  • Results-Based Management (RBM)
  • Leadership Development Skills
  • Any other similar training (As per office requirements)

The selected consultants will be hired based on their areas of expertise, as and when required during the stipulated time period.

Purpose of Activity/Assignment:

The following deliverables are foreseen for these consultancies:

Assess needs:

  • Consultant/s will have a series of calls with the HR representative to assess the needs and objectives of the training.
  • Consultant/s may need to conduct a needs assessment survey with targeted staff members to identify training/learning areas.

**Design the training***:*

  • The consultant/s will design the training based on the initial conversation held with HR and/or the findings of the training needs assessment.
  • A variety of delivery methods are to be used throughout, such as lecturing, group discussions, role play, exercises – both indoor and outdoor where the venue permits – theoretical models, and case studies (commercial organizations and/or UN organizations).
  • The training design is to be approved by the HR representative.

Deliver training:

  • UNICEF Bangladesh will arrange and cover the following: venue, logistics, equipment, food & refreshments where applicable/required, photocopies or electronic copies of learning materials/handouts, and supplies for the participants.
  • The office will also cover return economy airfare for the trainer to reach the venue and daily subsistence allowance (DSA) as per UNICEF policy.
  • The consultant/s will provide to HR the following two weeks before the event:
  • An agenda of the training with full contents
  • Requirements from the participants
  • Handouts & presentations and relevant learning materials
  • The details of the logistics and list of required equipment/material

  • The consultant will deliver the full contents of the training as per the training design and conduct a training evaluation based on individual participant questionnaires at the end of the training, as well as received feedback during the training, which also would serve to adjust the delivery of the current training if necessary. Any major adjustment needs to be approved by HR.

Produce Training Report:

  • Based on the analysis of the training evaluations by participants and other input and background information, a soft copy of the final Report with Lessons Learned and Recommendations is to be sent by the consultant to HR within one/two weeks of the training delivery.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Behavioral Coaching, Coaching Psychology, Human Resources, Adult Learning, or another relevant field of study;
  • UNICEF BCO is looking for an individual, team, and organizational development trainer/facilitator with more than 10 years of experience in designing and facilitating intercultural, change & leadership learning and events for senior management and their teams;
  • He/she should have experience in communication, teamwork, change, leadership, collaboration work, performance, positive mental attitude, well-being, and problem-solving/decision-making.

Application Guidance (applications should contain the following):

1. Technical Offer:

Based on the careful study of the TOR and deliverables, provide (1) information on the way you intend to achieve the outputs of the assignment and complete the deliverables. (2) Please elaborate on the timeline and milestones. (3) Also indicate references to similar assignments that you performed & their contacts, and (4) attach your CV.

2. Financial Offer:

Should be an all-inclusive (lump-sum) fee for all deliverables and complete output of the assignment as described in the TOR. It should include among others consultancy fees, associated administrative costs, and all living and travel costs (please see the travel plan in the TOR if applicable). UNICEF will not cover any additional costs. A payment schedule that is linked to milestones and completed deliverables should be included.
