UNICEF’s Division of Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) has been organizing events and capacity building activities, as well as delivering strategic documents, knowledge products and reports that are in need of consultants who can provide graphic and video design and production work. Amongst these are online sessions hosted in a Virtual Skill Share Academy that are repackaged for on-demand viewing amongst UNICEF global staff, brochures and powerpoints for internal and external audiences, and branded assets for use in events and webinar series.

PURPOSE OF ASSIGNMENT:

We are forming a roster of experienced graphic and video designers who can be engaged by the PFP PRIME team in servicing the graphic and video design needs of PFP as well as other Divisions in the Partnership cone— Division of Global Communication and Advocacy (DGCA) and Public Partnership Division (PPD)—in order to support the scale up of the new model of knowledge and skill sharing and to support in repackaging knowledge into visual and video formats. The designers may also be engaged directly by other PFP teams for their own graphic design and video editing needs, with deliverables that fall within the scope of this LTA.

OBJECTIVE(S):

Support the PRIME Knowledge Management team in providing services to the Partnerships Cone, as well as other PFP teams who may be in need of graphic and video-related services.

How can you make a difference?

MAJOR TASKS TO BE ACCOMPLISHED:

• Provide video editing and production services, delivering different kinds of video outputs. One major need would be for the Virtual Skill Share, where in coordination with relevant session teams, the following tasks should be delivered:

o Review speaker recordings and identify, collect, or create appropriate visuals such as still pictures, images, icons, key words, graphs, and infographics to illustrate key points and messages from the recordings.

o Develop animations and videos to illustrate concepts explained in session recordings, integrating them into pre-recorded sessions to clarify topics being covered by the speaker. These videos can include creative videos, video scribing, motion graphic, animated PowerPoint, or any other form of video appropriate to explain the concept.

o Where necessary, perform video editing to combine speaker recordings, visuals, and animations to form an online session.

o For sessions that need to be produced with external vendors, coordinate with the vendor to ensure that visuals and animations are used correctly and in accordance with agreement with session teams.

o Provide any post-session video editing requirements and support in uploading videos in the PFP’s video repository.

• Provide design and visualization services to Teams for internal stakeholders, including presentations, infographics, document layout and formatting and visual assets for internal communication.

• Create design assets and templates needed for Virtual Skill Share (VSS) sessions and focused events, including branded PowerPoint templates and overlays for pre-recorded sessions.

• Create and modify existing design templates for various digital materials, ensuring brand consistency across different mediums and channels.

• Develop podcasts and other audio outputs as needed.

• Provide capacity building sessions on simple graphic and visual design to internal audiences as needed.

Responsibilities of the Consultant:

  • The consultant will use their own equipment; laptops, microphones, software and other accessories that may be required for this task.
  • The consultant will not give the content/material or any part thereof, to any third party without the written permission of UNICEF. All components will be the property of UNICEF, and the consultant will not share the same with anyone else.
  • The consultant will not put their own name or logo/emblem on the content / final product. The only organization branding will be UNICEF, if required.
  • Regular liaison with manager and content owners and any related units.

Responsibilities of UNICEF:

  • UNICEF will provide all details pertaining to the activity and the requirements
  • UNICEF will orient the consultant on UNICEF’s branding guidelines
  • UNICEF will share the documents and specifications with the consultant as he/she becomes available and will coordinate the timely delivery of work.

DURATION OF LTA:

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education:

  • First-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or higher) in graphic design or other related area is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of four years progressive experience in graphic design or other relevant areas is required.
  • Good portfolio of design work is required.
  • Ability to follow creative briefs and produce accurate artwork which is in line with the UNICEF brand guidelines is an asset.
  • Experience of working for an international organization or an NGO is desirable.
  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite products, such as InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is required.
  • Multimedia and editing knowledge using Premiere Pro is desirable.
  • Good working knowledge of PowerPoint and other Office platforms is required.
  • Ability to translate data into compelling infographics is required.
  • Ability to deliver products on time and within budget is desirable.

Language:

  • Fluency in English is required (good command of written and spoken English). Knowledge of another official UN language such French and/or Spanish is considered as an asset.

Work Samples – This includes three previously designed work: (1) a short video showcasing your creativity in video production and editing; (2) a piece of infographic; (3) a product that showcases your layout and presentation skills (e.g., a powerpoint deck or a laid-out report or email).   4. A financial proposal indicating professional fee as per the above template. Please do not forget to specify your name in the file while saving. (to be uploaded online under “Financial Proposal” tab).

Without all the above documents your application will be considered incomplete and invalid and will not be considered further.

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
