Support WFP logistics port operations

You have:

  • Secondary school education.
  • At least three years of experience in logistics, transport and port operations in the humanitarian sector. A certified first degree from a recognized university, studying in logistics, transport or operations may be considered in lieu of the years of experience.
  • Successfully completed 8-month internship programme with WFP Somalia.
  • Proficiency in oral and written communication in Somali and English is a must.
  • Knowledge of work routines and methods of port operations.
  • Experience utilizing computers including word processing, spreadsheet and other standard software packages.

What will you do?

  • Support WFP logistics port operations.
  • Supervise warehouse cleaning after loading/ unloading and reconstitution exercise.
  • Monitor the correct use and quantity as per loading orders.
  • Participate in monthly physical stock count exercise.
  • Inspect the condition of commodities upon arrival and report any discrepancies.
  • Prepare minutes of supply chain meetings.
  • Maintain inventory of Non-Food Items in the warehouse.

Do you meet the minimum requirements?

  • Secondary school education.
  • At least three years of experience in logistics, transport and port operations in the humanitarian sector. A certified first degree from a recognized university, studying in logistics, transport or operations may be considered in lieu of the years of experience.

Contract Duration: 11 months
