Duties and Responsibilities

Support the Information & Knowledge Manager in producing/reporting Logistics-specific formats as required within the operation. Key products include sitreps, bulletins, snapshots, briefings, meeting minutes, presentations, and outgoing letters to the Government. • Continuously help in strengthening logistics operations such as monitoring and evaluating for improved performance, competitive advantage, and innovation, and capturing and sharing of lessons learned. • Support in establishing and maintaining a platform for the logistics unit to organize and establish internal controls to manage all documentation including cargo allocations, MoUs, NFRs, ConOps, contracts, logistics updates, CBT, SLAs, etc. • Support the Information Manager in drafting various reports, collecting key operational information, and providing support where required. • Draft, consolidate and share key logistics information and procedures, such as ConOps and SOPs ensuring they are regularly revised/updated if required. Inform relevant stakeholders on commodity tracking reporting/procedures. • Prepare operational overviews, briefings, and snapshots on the logistics operation for WFP Management, RB, HQ, donors, and other stakeholders as required. • Work closely with the Information Manager to ensure updated logistics information is disseminated to all stakeholders as necessary. • Work with sub-offices in Somalia and in assessing their information requirements, support them with basic training and guide them in basic principles of logistics information management. • Identify the most appropriate methodology to source and map information that can be used for advocacy in addressing highlights in the supply chain. • Establish, moderate, and maintain a logistics mailing list with all stakeholders. • Standardize and execute quality control of logistics assessments and activity reports. • Provide WFP’s report officer with inputs about logistics highlights. • Recognize and assess the sensitivity of information obtained; respect the confidential nature of sources of information where relevant. • Perform other tasks as required.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Completion of secondary school education. An advanced diploma in Social Sciences, International Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related functional area is required. A degree in the related functional area is an added advantage

Experience: At least five (5) years of relevant professional work experience in Supply Chain.

Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Somali is required
