Org. Setting and Reporting The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) provides critical Logistics, Geospatial, Information and Telecommunications Technologies services and Training to all peacekeeping missions around the world.

This position is located in the Administration and Programme Management Unit (APMU) within the Office of the Chief of the Supply Chain Service (SCS) in Brindisi, Italy. The incumbent will report to the Chief Administration and Programme Management Unit.

Responsibilities SUPPLY: •Assists new mission survey/start-up teams with respect to property and inventory control; surveys contingent owned equipment, evaluates requirements, and recommends additions and deletions to Strategic Deployment Stocks of equipment and commodities. •Provides contract management support to more senior Supply Officers. •Verifies funding, bidding, evaluation and certifies invoices with respect to requisitions. •Acts as primary focal point for the production of field mission cost estimates.

TRANSPORT: •Undertakes research with respect to the preparation and compilation of the Aviation Safety Annual Report. •Assists in the execution of technical evaluations for long and short-term contracts. •Assists Aviation Officers in researching and obtaining data and documents related to field Missions. •Provides technical assistance with respect to vehicle insurance and vehicle database operation. •Maintains liaison with relevant departments and field missions with respect to the status of procurement, delivery, financial and insurance matters.

GENERAL: •Manages a small detachment/unit and supervises assigned staff. •Initiates requisitions and performs technical evaluations. •Designs and develops relevant databases. •Formulates and monitors budget allocations. •Integrates and standardizes Supply Chain Service reporting. Maintains and continuously enhances Business Intelligence reports and Microsoft Power BI reports, dashboards and applications for SCS. •Provides support in data management and analysis at managerial and operational level. •Assists and coordinates the drafting and/or revisions of Supply Chain Agreements between SCS and clients; supports the creation of costing models and ensures that the cost recoveries are properly recorded in ERP transactional system; maintains master data and liaises with the Controller’s office for cost plan, allocation and rate cards; monitors cost recoveries and performs funds reconciliation activities. •Provides technical and advisory support on Umoja transactional operations. Train junior staff, provide on the job Umoja training. •Performs other duties as required.

Education High school diploma or equivalent is required. Self-Service Analytics / Power BI Data Visualization and Power BI Data Transformation Certificates is desirable. Certification in Supply Chain related ERP modules (e,g. Service Delivery and cost recovery module, or Source to acquire, or Logistics execution or other related modules) is desirable. Certification in Prince 2 foundation or similar is desirable. Certification in Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or similar is desirable.

Work Experience At least seven years of progressive responsible experience in supply chain management, in contract administration, logistics or related area is required. Experience in the use of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System such as Umoja or equivalent is required Experience in performance reporting and cost recovery is desirable.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.

Assessment Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.

Passing the Global General Service Test (GGST) is a prerequisite for recruitment consideration in the General Service category in the United Nations Secretariat. Having passed the Administrative Assessment Support Test (ASAT) in English at Headquarters,ECA, ESCWA, UNOG, UNOV, ICTR, or ICTY may be recognized in place of the GGST, pending confirmation of validity.
