- Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required.
- Knowledge of French is desirable.
Contract

Org. Setting and Reporting This position is located in the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO), based in Goma. The Logistics Assistant reports to the Acquisition Planning Officer within the Supply Chain Management Services (SCMS).
Responsibilities Within delegated authority, the Logistics Assistant will perform the following tasks:
- Contributes to Mission Acquisition Planning and assist to monitor the supply chain plans and follow up with technical units regarding mission data analytics ensure resources are used in an optimal way.
- Prioritizes source plans preparation as per Supply Chain Operational Guidance, considering changing priorities and emergencies, asset rightsizing resulting into an optimal use of resources.
- Liaises with counterparts in the technical units to support supply chain planning including items to be supplied from existing inventory of Strategic Deployment Stock (SDS) or surplus stock in other missions.
- Maintains relevant databases and files to keep track of records and updates the various stakeholders regarding the assigned categories.
- Provides logistical and operational support in terms of lifeline commodities and services such as fuel and rations in coordination with other mission support sections.
- Prepares reports and documentation.
- Research consumption trends, usage figures, requirements and supports the supply chain planning processes.
- Provides information to mission clients and briefings on operations.
- Assists with the preparation of supply chain plans.
- Participates in the process of sourcing through all authorized methods.
- Reviews regular inventories of client sections and mission assets as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
