MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY

Commodity Management (40%)

  • Ensure that all commodities are properly accounted for and bring to the attention of the Project Manager and LER advisor any discrepancies in accounting.
  • Ensure that distribution plans are prepared and approved in advance to enhance efficient field operations.
  • Ensure that damaged/unfit commodities are kept separately at the FDPs. Arrange for the disposal of all commodities unfit for human consumption upon receipt of the necessary authorization. Ensure proper documentation of such activity in the prescribed form in case there are damages at the centers.
  • Ensure that the instituted commodity management and distribution system e.g. Last Mile Mobile Solution (LMMS) system is implemented, utilized and monitored.
  • Ensure that commodities are received by the targeted beneficiaries. Spot-check FDP stores to ensure they are properly maintained and all equipment functioning properly
  • Support the LER Advisor in ensuring that there are adequate commodity stocks and a healthy pipeline and advice accordingly.

Monitoring, Reporting and Documentation (40%)

  • Ensure the implementation of food and non-food assistance activities is in line with the design and serves the needs of the community
  • Conduct weekly/monthly project monitoring visits and prepare reports
  • Consolidate monthly plans, ensure implementation and share updates on work progress against the plans.
  • Ensure all records are maintained as per food programming standards and guidelines.
  • Review partner reports and align them to the program design
  • Document the contribution of the projects to child wellbeing outcomes to assess impact and advice programming.
  • Support the setup of accountability mechanisms for all food assistance projects.
  • Review and prepare the WV Office for the GC audit in the year. Identify the system needs and issues for implementing the program; effective monitoring system and procedures are in place for all projects and document for audit.
  • Ensure all FSL, WASH and S-NFI intervention plans are reflected and regularly reported in the respective cluster Activity Info pages per the standard.

Coordination and Capacity Building (15%)

  • Ensure coordinated engagement with the community, government authorities, humanitarian agencies and other stakeholders for planning, updating, avoiding duplication of resources to support a harmonious response
  • Support setting technical specifications for project related procurement BOQs
  • Apply learning’s from field on various types of activities that could be planned and integrated alongside food programming.
  • Provide updated information to internal & external partners
  • Participate in identification of training needs and ensure proper training and develop capacity of partners and field monitors

Othe​rs (5%)

  • Perform any other duties as required by the LER technical advisor and Project manager through matrix relationship.

KNOWLEDGE/QUAKIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Biotechnology or any other related course from a recognized University.
  • At least two years’ relevant work experience
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications such as Ms. Office, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Teams, Power BI, databases such as MySQL and data collection applications such as ODK, Kobo
  • Valid certificate of good conduct
  • A high level of organization and management skills
  • Good oral, written, presentation& communication skills and inter-personal skills
  • Thorough knowledge of support services systems, including planning, reporting, staff training
  • Prior experience working in an NGO set up is an added advantage D
  • Demonstrated commitment to Christian values
  • Experience working with NGOs will be an added advantage
  • Must have a good understanding of the different systems of extension delivery.
  • Computer literate
  • Possess Police Clearance Certificate

  • Good communication and mobilization skills.
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible worldview, emotional maturity and physical stamina.
  • Ability to prepare logistics for training events in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement

  • Office environment 30% and 70% field activities within the response area
  • Travel: 10 % Domestic travel may be required.
  • On call: As required
