This is a UNV International Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as International UN Volunteer. It is normally internationally recruited only. More about UNV International Specialist contracts.

The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) is the UN headquarters in Africa and the representative office of the Secretary-General. We support programme implementation of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT) globally, as well as other UN offices in Kenya, by providing administrative, conference and information services (www.unon.org). This post is located in the United Nations Office at Nairobi, Human Resources Management Service (HRMS), Talent Development Unit (TDU).

Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Unit, Talent Development the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

· Coordination of Language Programme teachers, curriculum, and examinations. · Administrative and substantive support required for the delivery of language classes. · Coordination of multilingualism activities · Supervision of administrative activities and support staff associated with the Language Programme services · Coordination and alignment with other UN-internal language programmes as well as international standards · Support to the oversight of the language programme’s financial viability · Drafting of programme reports to sponsors and participating UN entities. · Support the development and implementation of supplementary substantive skills training courses of cross-cutting interest to UN common system entities.

the area of Human Resources at the international level, with emphasis on experience in a learning and development function, is required. Experience in the management of learning programmes is required. A good understanding of financial management of programmes is required. Experience in managing language training is desirable. Experience in management of LMS is desirable. Experience in using collaboration technology and tools to support delivery of training, and designing and managing online training programmes is desirable. Experience in the design of online learning is desirable.
