Function

The Learning and Culture Officer is responsible for consolidating learning needs from Individual Development Plans (IDPs), Competency Assessment Training Needs outcomes, and developing a learning calendar for the region. S(H)e ensures all annual learning plans are delivered on time and in full to result in the continuous capacity building of regional talent and fostering a learning organization culture.

In consultation with the Director of Learning and Culture & People Managers identify service providers to actualize the learning calendars and deliver on the plans for the year, resulting in the achievement of our Annual Training Plan / individual training days target and Return on Investment on Learning and Development initiatives. Coordinate learning events in the region.

In collaboration with the Director of Learning and Culture, carry out coordination of assessment outcomes, analyzing the survey and creating reports, building stakeholders forums and continuous engagement of culture and Employee Engagement initiatives. The role holder shall also provide operational support to HR systems and database are up to date.

The role will be based in Lagos, Nigeria.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DELIVERABLES

A. Learning Program Consolidation and Resourcing (25%)

  • Consolidating learning needs from Individual Development Plans,
  • Consolidating learning needs from Competency Assessment Training Needs
  • Consolidating learning needs from career aspirations and performance management.
  • Developing a learning calendar for the regional staff.
  • Ensure all regional annual learning plans are delivered on time and in full to result in the continuous capacity building of regional talent.
  • Fostering initiatives to deliver a learning organization culture.

B. Fulfillment of Learning Initiatives (Training Delivery) (25%)

  • Identify service providers to actualize the learning calendars and deliver on the plans for the year.
  • Setting up of training sessions such as workshops, e-learning modules, and on-the-job training.
  • Coordinate with external trainers or training providers as needed.
  • Coordinate learning events for region and inclusion of regional staff in Regional Learning events.
  • Create and promote internal communication campaigns to highlight learning opportunities and cultural initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and management of the learning and culture budget.
  • Seek cost-effective solutions for training and development initiatives.

C. Values and Employee Engagement (25%)

  • Coordination of assessment outcomes, analyzing the survey and creating reports
  • Building stakeholder's engagement forums.
  • Ensure continuous engagement of the regional team on our Heifer Africa values including monitoring our behavioral index.
  • Ensure continuous engagement of the regional team on Heifer’s Value-Based Holistic Community Development approach (VBHCD).
  • Consolidate our Employee Engagement initiatives consolidated reporting.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent communication and implementation of cultural initiatives.

D. Learning Metrics and Evaluation (10%)

  • Ensure delivery of our Annual Training Plan / individual training days target.
  • Ensure Return on Investment (ROI) of the Learning and Development initiatives.
  • Develop and implement methods to assess the effectiveness of learning programs.
  • Analyze learning metrics and feedback to make continuous improvements.

E. Operations (10%)

  • Operational support on HR systems and databases to ensure they are up to date.

Any Other Assigned Function (5%)

Minimum Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Organizational Development, Education, or a related field.
  2. 5-7 years of experience in a busy learning and development function.
  3. Experience managing learning service providers.
  4. Proven experience on coordinating trainings and delivery of learning programs.
  5. Strong understanding of organizational culture and its impact on employee engagement.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  8. Strong organizational and project management skills.

Preferred Requirements

  1. Knowledge of learning management systems and e-learning platforms.
  2. Experience in data analysis and reporting.
  3. Experience working in a multi-cultural environment.
