In January 2023, the center has a 6-month knowledge management internship to support the design and development of the internal web site within the overall supply division internal knowledge sharing site project. However, the overall internal knowledge management project was delayed, and the internship ended before implementing and launching the site.

CHESP is looking for a UNV to continue building on the work done by the internship to further support the implementation, maintenance, and content management of the internal site as well as provide digital graphic content to support documents for supply for public health emergency that is used to communicate center work to a diverse stakeholder and share and store updated information on current.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Administrative Assistant or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer is to support the Centre in maintaining and developing knowledge hubs for Public Health Emergencies (supply-focused) particularly providing technical, graphic, and innovative expertise by maintaining and updating CHESP intranet and internet, and collaborating closely with the COMMs, SPKC centres and will:

• Review existing intranet site and content to identify gaps and
• Develop and update supply for public health emergency intranet site (CHESP intranet site) • Develop the back end for the support of the Intranet site. • Support CHESP in organizing and participating in regular coordination meetings aimed at information sharing for appropriate collaboration between internal and external partners. • Support action points formulation and tracking to completion. • Regularly update and maintain contact lists of all partners and working groups in country and regional offices, other UN agencies and within UNICEF across divisions. • Support the preparations and roll out of the annual HHS meeting chaired by SD. • Develop internal and external team web sites. • Assist in routine website updates, including content, images upload and functionality. • Monitor and report any technical issues or bugs to the immediate supervisor. • Ensure the intranet and website are up to date, visually appealing and user-friendly. • Upload and format content, including articles, images, videos, and other multimedia elements. • Help in organizing and categorizing content for easy navigation. • Assist in integrating social media feeds or/and widgets onto the intra/web sites. • Coordinate with social media team for content sharing and cross-promotion. • Provide basic technical support for website users, addressing inquiries and issues. • Assist in user data management, including sign-ups, logins, and access controls. • Support/develop/maintain internal Public Health Emergency alert monitoring and response dashboards and the maintenance of the internal response tracking systems. • Support the creation of guidance documentation through the production of infographics and additional visualization outputs. • Any other duties or assignments that could be relevant, as requested by the supervisor. • Collate, produce, and circulate CHESP Newsletters.

Furthermore, UN Volunteers are encouraged to integrate the UN Volunteers programme mandate within their assignment and promote voluntary action through engagement with communities in the course of their work. As such, UN Volunteers should dedicate a part of their working time to some of the following suggested activities:

• Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day); • Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country; • Provide annual and end of assignment self- reports on UN Volunteer actions, results and opportunities; • Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.; • Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly arrived UN Volunteers; • Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible.

Results/expected outputs: • As an active UNICEF Supply Division team member, efficient, timely, responsive, client-friendly and high-quality support rendered to UNICEF Supply Division and its beneficiaries in the accomplishment of her/his functions, including being responsible in assisting the team in collecting, organizing, and sharing information. The incumbent will be expected to support UNICEF’s Centre for Health Emergency Strategy & Partnership (CHESP) efforts to develop and maintain CHESP’s public health emergency visibility and structural activities across the organization. The role will be responsible in assisting the team in collecting, organizing, and sharing information. • Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD) perspective is systematically applied, integrated and documented in all activities throughout the assignment. • A final statement of achievements towards volunteerism for peace and development during the assignment, such as reporting on the number of volunteers mobilized, activities participated in and capacities developed.

The UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging for his/her own housing, transport, and other living essentials.

UN Volunteer entitlements and allowances: The purpose of the allowances and entitlements paid to UN Volunteers is to enable UN Volunteers to sustain a secure standard of living at the duty stations in line with United Nations standards without incurring personal costs. The allowances are in no way to be understood as compensation, reward, or salary in exchange for the UN Volunteer’s service.
