In Zimbabwe, WFP has a strong track record of delivering food assistance and managing supply chains during crises, while building resilience to shocks among vulnerable communities. The July 2022-December 2026 Country Strategic Plan (CSP) provides a road map to promote shock-responsive social protection and sustainable and resilient food systems.

The 2022- 2026 CSP articulates collaborative efforts to better anticipate future needs, improve data and forecasting and strengthen livelihoods and local capacities to withstand, respond to and adapt more readily to sudden or chronic stresses. WFP will support informed decision making on food security and nutrition in Zimbabwe, and will integrate nutrition, gender, protection and inclusion, youth engagement, technological innovation and decentralized zero hunger action throughout the plan. WFP will establish new partnerships and leverage existing ones to their full potential, including those with the other Rome-based and other United Nations agencies. WFP Zimbabwe’s July 2022 - December 2026 CSP focuses on the below areas. • Social and humanitarian assistance for food-and nutrition-insecure populations in targeted rural and urban areas. • Support to urban food insecure households for resilient livelihoods. • Support to rural communities for climate resilient livelihoods, sustainable management of natural resources and enhanced participation in local markets and value chains. • Collaboration with national actors to enhance capacities to develop, coordinate and implement well-informed, effective and equitable actions for achieving food and nutrition security. • Services to humanitarian and development actors in Zimbabwe so they can implement their programmes and provide support to their beneficiaries in an efficient, effective and reliable way at all times, including during crises.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Head of Research Assessment and Monitoring function or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV Information Management Officer will be required to develop and implement Knowledge Management (KM) initiatives to institutionalize Knowledge Management in line with WFP’s corporate Knowledge Management Strategy, and foster a culture of organizational learning, strategic collaboration, and continuous improvement.:

Drive Implementation of Knowledge Management  Develop and implement a Knowledge Management Strategy, Framework, and/or Action-Plan to advance the institutionalization of Knowledge Management.  Drive the analysis of knowledge management needs, gaps, and opportunities to support assessment findings feed into the development of the Knowledge Management Strategy, Framework and Plan of Action  Pro-actively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote the implementation of knowledge management initiatives.  Develop KM tools and templates to support the successful implementation of Knowledge Management initiatives.  Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) related to knowledge management activities and report on the use, impact, and success of knowledge management initiatives.

 Knowledge Capture & Documentation

 Develop and implement methodologies for effectively synthesizing knowledge into a variety of useful products to enable the re-application of knowledge and scaling of better practices.  Develop and implement approaches to identify and document knowledge, good practices, and innovations from teams and projects to ensure critical knowledge is effectively and appropriately captured and retained. Knowledge Access & Sharing  Establish new and/or enhance existing processes for maintaining WFP's corporate knowledge management platforms, in alignment with WFP’s corporate taxonomy and metadata tagging standards, to ensure all staff have access to updated, relevant, quality knowledge content and products.  Establish and/or chair and facilitate Knowledge Management Networks, Communities of Practices, and/or Strategic Working Groups to ensure peer support, knowledge transfer, and critical alignment as needed.  Engage with external partners to promote and disseminate WFP knowledge.

Organizational Learning & Continuous Improvement

 Develop guidance for learning before, during and after projects to ensure existing organizational knowledge and learnings are incorporated into workplans, and new learnings are applied to current and future work.  Design and deliver training and capacity development initiatives to support building the capabilities of WFP staff on the use of Knowledge Management processes, tools, and systems.

relevant field of work and/or with at least 5 years of Progressive postgraduate professional experience in the Knowledge Management or related field within a background and interest in international humanitarian development. • Has practical understanding of Knowledge Management, Change Management, Project Management, and Learning concepts, principles, and methodologies. • Has contemporary and progressive Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) skills and experience in managing online knowledge platforms. • Has experience in website and publication design. • Has experience in creating targeted research and knowledge products. • Has good oral and written communication skills, able to clearly articulate insights to a range of stakeholders in and outside of WFP.

As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. National UN Volunteers are part of the malicious insurance plan.
