**OVERVIEW** ------------ Parent Sector : Communication and Information Sector (CI) Duty Station: Paris Job Family: Communication and Information Type of contract : Non Staff Duration of contract : From 7 to 11 months Recruitment open to : External candidates Application Deadline (Midnight Paris Time) : 23-08-2021 UNESCO Core Values: Commitment to the Organization, Integrity, Respect for Diversity, Professionalism **OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST** ----------------------------------------- Under the overall authority of the Assistant Director-General for Communication and Information, and the Chief of Section for Digital Innovation and Transformation (CI/DIT) and the direct supervision of the Programme Specialist responsible for Open Educational Resources (OER) and digital competencies, the Individual consultant shall assist in the implementation of Open Educational Resources (OER) The incumbent will specifically undertake the following tasks: Backstopping of programme implementation - Support the implementation of OER Dynamic Coalition activities in the area of (i) building capacity of stakeholders to create, access, re-use, adapt and redistribute OER; (ii) developing supportive policy; (iii) encouraging inclusive and equitable quality OER; (iv) nurturing the creation of sustainability models for OER,: Establishing information on international ongoing activities; supporting regional and intra-regional collaboration between stakeholders; Developing information resources to support member states in the implementation of the above four areas; establishing networks for peers working in each of the above four areas and supporting the maintenance of these networks for the sharing of best practices. - Organize at least one online workshops on each of the four areas of action: (i) building capacity of stakeholders to create, access, re-use, adapt and redistribute OER; (ii) developing supportive policy; (iii) encouraging inclusive and equitable quality OER; (iv) nurturing the creation of sustainability models for OER\* - Support the development of the OER Dynamic Coalition Portal, including: Liaison with UNESCO central services and the technical Portal development team; provide content based on UNESCO OER Recommendation resources; ensure the organization of translation needs of this content; ensure the editing of content in English and French. - Prepare news items, reports, synthesis notes, and briefings related to ongoing and future OER Dynamic Coalition projects, activities and events, and other DIT documents; carry out relevant desk research. - Assist in the overall coordination of the OER Dynamic Coalition activities including liaison with stakeholders, inputs to the planning and implementation of OER Dynamic Coalition Roadmap activities, contributing to the implementation of follow up actions. Promoting learning and knowledge management/sharing - Excellent coordination and negotiation skills. - Demonstrated ability to use office equipment with computer literacy in graphic design, publication design, multimedia products development, web design, web content, etc. - High attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines. ***Languages*** - Excellent knowledge of one working language of UNESCO (working languages: English and French). - Very good knowledge of the other working language of UNESCO (working languages: English and French). **DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS** ---------------------------- ***Work Experience*** - Proven experience implementing activities related to OER and UNESCO Normative Instruments. - Proven work experience in the establishment and maintenance of electronic collaborative working spaces for the implementation of activities in a multilingual and multicultural environment. - Experience working on activities related to ICT and Education in the UNESCO and /or UN Context. ***Languages*** - Knowledge of Spanish, Russian, Chinese and/or Arabic will be an asset. **APPLICATION PROCEDURE** ------------------------- Interested candidates should complete the on-line application; download and complete the Employment History form (Word file).
