Result of Service The Consultant's work will help to assure the high quality of new ICT tools aimed at enhancing the UNCTAD ASYCUDA Customs system contribution to implementation of trade facilitation measures in the Central Asia region, including in the area of e-commerce

Duties and Responsibilities UNCTAD ASYCUDA Programme is implementing projects in the Central Asian region aimed at maintenance and upgrade of operational ASYCUDA systems with a view to further extending customs contribution to trade facilitation measures In the context of the ASYCUDA and Single Window implementation and maintenance projects in Kazakhstan and Central Asia under the general supervision of UNCTAD ASYCUDA Regional Coordinator for Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

The Consultant will undertake the following duties

- Quality assurance of extended ASYCUDA features for interoperability with e-commerce and railway operators for Kazakhstan and Central Asia

- Testing and fine-tuning of the ASYPAP Module, based on Moldova experience, for its utilization in Kazakhstan and Central Asia

- Testing and fine-tuning of the Passengers Declaration module adapted for Central Asia operational environment

- Testing and fine-tuning of the ASYPCD module, based on Moldova and Georgia experience, for its utilization in Kazakhstan and Central Asia

- Testing and fine-tuning of ASYCUDA interoperability with national railway and road operators

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: An advanced university degree, Master, in ICT technology, IT engineering or similar field. Experience: At least 3 years of experience in the area of quality assurance of complex ICT systems with experience in quality tests planning and conducting, preparing recommendations for improving ICT products and familiarity with QA tools and programming languages is required. Experience of work in countries with transition economies is an advantage. Language: Fluency written and oral in English is required. Knowledge of Russian is an advantage
